I invite you to get comfortable in your seat and close your eyes or cast your gaze downward Take a minute to turn your attention inwards.
Feel yourself evenly seated.
Balanced inward in the body.
Feel yourself seated with equal weight on both sides.
Feel this inner grounding and solidity.
Drop the mind into the fullness of the body.
Imagine the mind dropping into the body,
The torso,
Legs,
Feet,
Arms,
Back.
Feel the aliveness inside the body.
And now connect with the movement of the breath.
Feeling the sensations of breathing.
Pay particular attention to the exhale.
Feel the base of the exhale in the core of the body.
And allow this awareness,
This experience of softening and settling to be known.
Direct relax.
Relax any effort.
Take a couple of breaths here to experience.
The stillness in the body.
And the movement of the breath.
Focus on softening and settling.
Feel the sense of warmth in the body and invite.
A sense of gratitude.
There is so much that we can be grateful for.
We can be grateful for the Indigenous people of the land on which we sit.
Maybe you know their names.
We're seated on this unseated territory.
That they attended and cared for.
Be grateful.
For their loving efforts.
Be grateful for our lineage.
The long line of life that supports us being here today.
Notice how it feels.
On the inside to invite this gratitude.
And to feel into it.
We are all born of the womb,
Cared for,
And birthed.
Cultivate gratitude here for those that have supported us in being here today.
And for those walking.
And for those waking up in support of humanity.
Gratitude for those marching,
Giving of themselves.
Offering gratitude is a way is is an intimate Offering gratitude is an intimate way to understand what it means to connect to humanity.
And to care for racial suffering.
We invite all of those.
That are suffering all sorrow.
All delusion.
To feel in the spaces between us.
And feel our care and warmth.
Representing a global heart.
May our lives and our practice.
Support the transformation of racial suffering near and far.
Now reflect on an ancestor,
An elder,
Or someone in your family.
That really struggles with racial hatred or delusion.
Someone you care about or knew about.
Maybe there's a way you struggle.
Connecting with this person.
Silently.
Inform them that you are taking them on this journey with you.
To do the inner work of racial healing.
Notice how you are impacted by this reflection.
Know that the work we're doing is generational.
As we grow our awareness,
We elevate the tribe.
And the lineage.
Through our actions,
We plant wholesome seeds that will bloom.
Take a few more moments to reflect on what you're grateful for and what you need.
To do to be fully present today.
Stay connected with the body and the breath.
And the experiences of stillness and inner stability.
Take your time and enjoy this practice.
