Many of us hold in our hearts regret,

Shame,

Rage,

And guilt,

Sometimes for a lifetime,

Unable to forgive ourselves or others.

Forgiveness is not forgetting,

Nor is it ignoring what is real.

Forgiveness gently helps us unclog the pain of our congested heart.

Forgiveness has a season.

The idea here is not to forgive before you are ready.

It is fine if you want to forgive yourself for not being willing to forgive.

When we practice forgiveness,

We relieve ourselves and open to a gentle and spacious acceptance of life.

There are three phases in the next meditation.

Forgiving yourself for harming yourself,

Forgiving yourself for harming others,

And forgiving others for harming you.

Join me as we journey into the territory of forgiveness.

Settle in.

You may want to focus on a particular person or experience.

Feel free to personalize these statements to make them more relevant to your particular situation.

For any way that I have caused harm to myself,

Knowingly or unknowingly,

In thought,

Word,

Or deed,

Out of fear,

Rage,

Or confusion,

I offer forgiveness.

May I accept myself as I am.

May I forgive myself.

For any way that I have caused harm to another,

Knowingly or unknowingly,

In thought,

Word,

Or deed,

Out of fear,

Rage,

Or confusion,

I ask forgiveness.

May I be forgiven.

May I release all guilt and shame.

For any way that I have been harmed by another,

Knowingly or unknowingly,

In thought,

Word,

Or deed,

Out of fear,

Rage,

Or confusion,

I offer forgiveness.

I too have hurt others and have been hurt by others.

I forgive you for hurting me.

I let go of the past and set myself free.

I offer forgiveness.

May I accept you as you are.

I offer forgiveness.

Thank you 🙏. I forgive myself for not being ready to forgive. I forgive myself for being unkind to myself in thought, and unskillful self talk.

Wow such a beautiful meditation! Thank you for explaining what forgiveness is and showing the different reasons why I might have done something to hurt myself, others, or why others might have hurt me. Beautiful. I’m so grateful for this mediation.

I’m probably never going to ask forgiveness from some, I will unlikely ever have them in my life again. Internally, when I ready, I may. But, this I really do need. Ive plenty to forgive and ask forgiveness. Started recently, pre finding this. Thank you.
