When your mind gets stuck and it's hard to believe that you are not in control,
The following meditation can be useful in shifting from holding on to letting go and letting be.
Settle in right where you are.
Get comfortable and gently close your eyes.
Become aware of your breath.
Allow yourself to notice your breath.
Place your attention on your upset.
It could be a person,
A situation,
Or it could be yourself.
See this upset clearly in your mind and mentally repeat these phrases.
No matter how I might wish things to be otherwise,
Things are as they are.
May I accept what is.
Whether I understand it or not,
Things are unfolding in divine order.
Beings meet their joys and sorrows according to a lawful nature.
I care for you,
But I cannot control your happiness or unhappiness.
Your happiness and unhappiness depends on your actions,
Not my wishes for you.
I care about your suffering,
But I cannot make your choices.
May you be free from harm and danger.
May you have mental and physical happiness.
May you accept your limitations with ease.
No matter how I might wish things to be otherwise,
Things are as they are.
May I accept what is.
May you be free from harm and danger.
