Repair of friendship,
We smile,
Connect,
As I remember who you are,
Your love present and clear.
We don't judge,
We aren't right,
No fault equals no fight.
I listen as you receive,
I ask questions and you answer with ease.
We acknowledge this external,
This false identity we attach,
This concern,
This worry,
This judgment.
It's catchy and sticky and entangles in our hearts,
Causes pain if we feed these unreal stories.
Yet the strength of our being,
Powerful and pure,
Our practice,
Our commitment and effort quite clear.
It aids the dissolving of unwanted,
In a more loving presence to appear.
Allowing mistakes,
Hurts and concerns,
We walking together with the support born from struggle.
This resistance,
A portal to a better way of treating.
We see one another,
Not separate,
Together.
Leaning in we both accept,
Unknowing that life will bring uncomfortable,
This suffering inevitable.
It's a guide to our lessons,
A place to look closer.
The avoidance,
The problem,
Causing the other to be more other.
Deep honor for us both,
Stepping into this discomfort.
Gifting each other the space and the stage to speak their feelings and distress.
I love you,
You say,
I hear and drink in the truth of your words.
I too remember my love and deep interest,
For you for me is immense.
This loving,
A blessing.
It's always here if we are aware.
A gentleness,
A holding,
A container of care.
