Welcome to day one of your meditation quest.

In today's meditation,

We are going to establish your meditation home,

Or some of you might know it as your safe space.

It's important to have access to a safe space within the realm of your consciousness that you can come back to at any time during any meditation if you start to feel unsafe.

This is a space that feels both comforting and expansive.

It feels peaceful and also full of opportunity.

For many people,

Their meditation home could be a representation of an actual home,

A home in your mind that feels like that to you.

So maybe it's your dream home,

Maybe it's a beautiful cabin by the sea or in the middle of the redwood forest.

For many people,

They choose a meditation home that is actually a place in nature.

So maybe it is a beautiful beach,

Maybe it is a forest,

Maybe it is a mountaintop.

So right now we are going to be starting with identifying your meditation home.

So please come to a comfortable position,

Whether you're sitting up with your legs crossed,

Feet flat on the floor,

Or you could be laying down as long as you don't get too comfortable and fall asleep.

It really doesn't matter what position you meditate in unless you are aiming for a specific style of meditation.

But for today,

Let's just start in a position that makes you not have to think about your body.

So get as comfortable as you can while staying alert and make sure your body is not in any discomfort or pain.

Once you find this position,

Begin to deepen your breath.

Turn on your connection to your breath and start to feel your breath come down from just being in your chest to expanding in your belly.

When you can allow your breath to expand into your belly,

You are activating your diaphragm and thereby activating your vagus nerve,

Which stimulates your parasympathetic nervous system,

And bringing you from a fight-or-flight state to a rest and relax state.

So this is another great way to find your meditation home,

Is to access diaphragmatic breathing.

In through the nose,

Out through the nose,

Slowing your breath down and starting to make the exhales slightly longer than the inhales.

As you increase the connection to your diaphragmatic breath,

You'll start to feel your nervous system calming down.

You'll start to feel the distractions around you getting quieter.

You'll start to feel your consciousness turning a little bit more internal.

When you feel that you have oxygenated your blood and your brain and you have started to bring your body into more of that relaxed state,

You start to feel that calmness washing over you.

Begin to turn your inner eye inward,

Away from anything external.

Just turn it inward towards yourself as you continue to breathe in through the nose,

Out through the nose,

Slowly bringing your inhale fully into your belly as you breathe,

Lengthening your spine,

Relaxing your shoulder blades and your jaw.

Imagine yourself completely alone,

Surrounded by nothing.

And as you breathe,

You begin to notice something appearing around you,

Something that feels safe,

Comfortable,

And expansive all at the same time.

As you begin to open your inner eyes,

You notice that you are in your meditation home.

Meditation home.

Look around and notice the details of the space that you inhabit within your consciousness.

Feel the temperature of the air.

Notice what time of day it is outside.

Notice what kind of nature is around you.

Notice whether you're inside or outside.

What kind of sounds do you hear?

Now that you've identified your meditation home,

Remember that you can always come back to this place whenever you need to,

Whether you're meditating or not.

This is a great way of regulating your nervous system.

But for now,

As you look down at your hands with your inner eyes,

Imagine a scroll has appeared in your hand.

And as you unroll that scroll,

You see this black writing in ink pen,

Calligraphy style,

And it's got your name at the top.

The scroll is an invitation to come on a quest.

And at the other end of this quest,

There is treasure.

This quest will have perils unknown.

This quest will be a journey of complete mystery.

There will be ups and downs.

There will be obstacles,

And there will also be deep breakthroughs and wins.

This quest is full of adventure,

And it's your choice to go on it right now.

What would be waiting for you on the other end of this quest that would make it worth it to you to walk out your door and join your companions on the path outside?

What treasure would motivate you to open yourself up to this journey?

Right now,

I want you to imagine what reward would be so great that you would be so excited to go on this quest.

What if the reward was that you felt 25% less anxiety from day to day?

What if the reward was that by the end of these 10 days,

You had 10 days of solid meditation under your belt?

What if the reward was that you felt 25% less anxiety from day to day?

What if at the end of this quest,

Your treasure was that you finally got the chattering voice in your head to be still and quiet?

What if the benefit of this quest was that on the other end,

Your relationships feel closer?

Imagine out of all the benefits you already know meditation can bring into your life,

What is the intention and what is the benefit you most desire at the end of this 10 days?

Allow yourself to see it and feel it.

Imagine that treasure chest full of beautiful sparkling gems,

And these gems represent the benefit that you will receive at the end of this experience.

More peace,

More gratitude,

Deeper connection,

Intuition,

Less distractions,

Happiness,

Better sleep,

A sense of accomplishment.

A sense of accomplishment.

Feel that as you breathe.

Take it into your cell tissue and allow it to permeate every nook and cranny of your being.

Feel yourself surrounded by a blanket of radiance that emanates beautiful light,

Knowing that you have succeeded.

Knowing that you made it all the way to the end of this 10 day quest and you have your treasure on the other side.

Let this become an emotional signature that guides you like a compass.

Whenever you become lost on this journey or you want to quit,

Come back to this feeling,

Put on that cloak of radiance and let yourself be enveloped by the feeling of the treasure on the other end,

Whatever that treasure is for you.

And when day 4 or 5 or 7 or 8 comes and you feel like giving up,

Put this cloak of radiance back on and remind yourself why you started this quest in the first place.

This is all here for you.

Thank yourself for showing up for day 1 and let's get ready to dive into the quest together.

See you tomorrow.
