What Do I Need Today? Attuning To Your Inner Wisdom
by Robin B
This meditation (maybe paired with journaling) helps you attune to your inner guidance system/inner Wise Self to explore what you need today: your body, energy, and Self. An intuitive and recentering practice to start or reset your day for clarity. (Re-recorded 3/8/25)

What do I need today?
One of the best ways to be intentional in life,
Attune to our internal guidance system,
And maximize our energy is to take time before throwing ourselves into the mix of the day.
If we can check in with how we're feeling,
What our energy is like,
And what we both need,
As well as what we can offer in the day,
It can transform how we experience our lives.
Often we get caught up in the rush of life and find ourselves doing things that drain our energy and not doing enough that nourishes and boosts our energy.
You can do this meditation any time of day.
It's especially useful at the start of the day or the start of a new part of your day.
Really any time you wish to check in and reorient your point of focus.
Feel free to pause the recording whenever you need a little more time to gather information or pay attention to your inner guidance.
Pausing won't negatively impact your meditation.
In fact,
Taking the time you need for your full download of information will more efficiently give you what you need.
You may wish to have a journal,
Notebook,
Or computer depending on how you like to gather information.
You may also wish to simply remember whatever comes.
Feel free to go through all the questions in the meditation or simply choose one for the day.
So go ahead and find a comfortable position where you can relax and not be disturbed for a little bit.
Begin to focus on your breath.
Initially,
Simply allow the breath without feeling the need to control it in any way.
Observe without judgment or need to change.
After a few easy inhalations and exhalations,
Imagine reaching deep down into the earth,
Almost as if you have roots to the very center of the earth.
Imagine breathing energy up from the depths of the earth and drawing it into your body,
Feeling deeply grounded and connected,
Even within just a few breaths.
Imagine that everything else falls away for now.
Know that all things going on in life will still be there when you return.
However,
This is your time.
This is your time to simply be and open to your own inner wisdom for guidance about what you need in this moment,
What you need today.
Now begin to notice how the breath energy moves through your body and imagine that breath can move with ease throughout your entire body,
Whether lungs or even into bone and soft tissue.
Imagine the breath is boundless.
This breath energy can extend out as far as your fingertips,
Through your neck,
Jaw,
Scalp,
And it can create energy and space wherever it moves,
From the crown of your head to your fingertips,
All the way to your toes.
With every breath,
Imagine that you become more and more attuned to your body,
To your energy,
To your soul,
That wise self.
Imagine that all of your senses awaken and begin to gather information throughout your physical and energetic body,
Like a highly sensitized instrument.
Imagine you can notice all the subtleties in your body,
The places that feel light,
The places that feel tingly or heavy or open.
Notice all that is available to you right now without judgment,
Just paying attention to the subtleties of your body.
Allow yourself through your many senses to experience any images,
Words,
Colors,
Sensations,
As you imagine breathing directly into your soul,
Into your wise self.
Simply notice what it feels like to breathe into that part of yourself without trying to influence what is currently present.
Just breathe.
Then begin to ask your inner wise self some questions.
I'll take a short pause in between questions and feel free to pause the recording to allow more time for stillness or to receive insights.
These insights may come as words,
Sensations,
Visions,
Smells,
Colors,
Sounds.
Simply gather all of it.
If whatever information you're getting is unclear,
Ask your wise self to clarify and provide more information.
If nothing comes,
Simply be with the stillness and trust that you need to pause.
Asking your wise inner self overall,
What do I need to know today?
What messages does my inner guidance system want to share with me?
What parts of my body or self need attention today and specifically what do they need?
What would be most supportive to me energetically today?
Is there anything else I need to release to better thrive in this day?
Is there an intention or quality that I can invite into my life right now to nourish me today?
An intention or quality?
And again,
Pause if you need more time.
Otherwise,
Slowly return back to that awareness of the sensations throughout your body as you continue moving breath energy with every inhale and exhale.
Imagine that this practice has given you a greater sense of space,
Peace,
A feeling of openness,
Softening,
Or whatever type of energy you wish to embody right now.
Imagine having a willingness to trust and follow whatever information arrived today.
And if nothing came,
Just know that it's your inner wise self asking for more stillness or some additional time for new information to arrive.
Imagine trusting your inner guidance system so deeply that it creates a sense of being held.
Relax into that.
Finally,
Taking a few more slow deep breaths,
Enjoy that sense of trust being held,
Being guided.
Begin to feel back into that rootedness deep into the earth.
Feeling grounded and in your own energy.
Feeling whole and complete.
When you're ready,
Just slowly reopen your eyes and come into this day with fresh insight and knowledge for what you need today.
What you need right now.
Trust it.
Follow it.
And enjoy your day.

This practice is such a great way to start the day. I can find it difficult to tap into my intuition for guidance but the more I practice using this meditation, the stronger the connection I am feeling. It really helps to set an intention for the day which comes from within. I will continue to revisit this on a daily basis. Thank you π
