The following practice invites you to enter into a very deep,

Relaxed state of your body and mind.

It's one of the best things you can do each and every day of your life.

Now,

Sit back or lie back in the position that you're now in,

And with your eyes open or closed,

Begin by affirming that you're entering into a short,

Restful nap.

As you affirm this,

Welcome into your body and mind the felt sense of your inner resource of ease and well-being.

With your eyes gently open or closed,

Welcome in the environment around you,

The sounds around you,

The sensation of air as it touches your skin,

The sensation of your body touching the surface that's supporting you.

Welcome the feeling of your body breathing itself,

The felt sense of your abdomen relaxing with each exhalation,

The various sensations that are calling your attention.

Welcome the sensations of your jaw,

Mouth,

Tongue,

Both ears at the same time,

Both cheeks,

Nostrils,

Eyes.

Welcome the sensations of both eyes at the same time,

Forehead,

Scalp,

Back of the head,

Neck.

Welcome the sensation of both shoulders and arms at the same time,

Both hands.

Welcome the sensation of your entire torso,

Chest and belly,

Upper and lower back,

Inside and surface sensations of your torso,

Sensation of your pelvis and hips,

Both legs,

Both feet.

Welcome your entire body as a field of sensation.

Simultaneously,

At the same time,

Feel the front and the back of the body,

The left and the right sides of the body,

The entire body at the same time.

Welcome the sensations of joy in your heart.

Let your physical eyes soften,

Feel the sensation of joy in your heart,

And feel as if you're looking from the eyes of your heart everywhere.

Welcome again the sensation of your body,

The front of the body,

Back of the body,

Left side,

Right side,

The entire body at the same time,

Jaw,

Mouth,

Ears,

Cheeks,

Nose,

Eyes,

Forehead,

Scalp,

Neck,

Shoulders,

Arms,

Hands,

The entire torso front and back,

Releasing thinking,

Just sensing both legs and feet at the same time,

The entire body,

Inside and out,

Just sensation everywhere.

Welcome in the simple ease of being,

Body and mind resting or sleeping,

Even as you might find yourself present and aware.

Just being,

Just sensation,

At ease,

Just being.

The one downside is that this guides you into a deep relaxation but not really back out, which might not be ideal for a nap. But it does this so fantastically well that I’ll just keep it to go to sleep or completely unwind.
