This technique we are about to use has been found to increase relaxation deep into alpha brainwaves,
Letting us communicate straight with your subconscious.
Take a deep breath in,
And as you exhale,
Gently close your eyes.
Let the muscles around your eyes relax,
Becoming calm and at ease.
Gently test them,
Gently,
Knowing they're heavy,
Relaxed,
And still.
Inhale deeply,
And as you exhale,
Allow the muscles around your eyes to release tension,

Gently test them,
Feeling the peaceful stillness and weight of them wanting to stay closed.

Becoming completely at ease.
Now,
Let the relaxation spread down to your toes,
Feeling a wave of calm flowing through your entire body.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes briefly,
And then close them once more,
Allowing yourself to drift even deeper into relaxation with each cycle.
Feel the depth of relaxation throughout your body.
Open them again,
And close them,
Sinking deeper into stillness.
And once more,
Open your eyes,
And shut them,
Very deep now,
Very calm,
Very comfortable.
As we move forward,
Each breath will serve to let you relax more and more,
Doubling the sensation of peaceful stillness.
In a moment,
I'll ask you to count backwards from 100.
With each number,
Your body will feel heavier,
And your mind will grow more relaxed.
By 98,
The numbers will begin to disappear,
Leaving you in a peaceful state of calm.
Now,
Take a deep breath,
And let's count together,
Each number slipping away deeper and deeper into relaxation.
100 99 98 And you notice that the numbers begin to fade.
Keep counting on your own.
You are now so deep that the numbers disappear altogether.
