Hello and welcome.
Shelley Mermaid here.
I'm so happy you've joined me to start your day.
You must be feeling very sleepy like me.
Did you have some nice dreams?
Let's slowly wake up together,
Okay?
Let's start off by sitting up with our back straight and our eyes closed.
There are no rules here,
So if for some reason you feel more comfy in a different position,
That's cool too.
I'm going to curl my mermaid tail underneath me,
But you can sit up with your legs crossed if you like.
With your eyes closed,
Take a long slow breath in through your nose and out through your mouth or gills.
Keep doing this for a few breaths.
If your nose is stuffy,
That's okay.
You can also just breathe through your mouth.
Remember,
There are no rules to relaxing.
Notice the way your nose and mouth feel with the air going in and out.
As you breathe,
Imagine that you're a mermaid underwater.
You can't really breathe underwater,
So it's fun to use our imagination to picture it.
Imagine what you see in front of you.
What's there?
Maybe a school of little fishies?
What color are they?
Golden?
Rainbow colored?
Reflecting pretty sparkly light from above?
Remember to breathe in and out slowly as you imagine watching the fishies.
In and out.
In and out.
As we look at the pretty fishies swimming all around us,
I see a friend approaching.
Swimming through the beautifully clear blue water comes my very good friend,
Prince Davide Dolphin.
Smile as you breathe slowly in and out.
He's so happy to see you here in the ocean.
He's a shiny gray dolphin,
But he's wearing a pretty purple cape and a little golden crown.
As he swims over you,
You reach up with your arms and touch his fins.
What a wonderful stretch.
You don't have to use your imagination to reach way,
Way up.
That feels good to stretch.
Keep those arms up with a big breath in,
And with a long breath out,
Slowly sweep your arms out wide to the side.
Imagine the little fishies swimming around your fingertips as you spread out your fingers as stretched as they can go.
Now slowly put your arms back down on your lap or to the sides,
And let them relax like you're floating in water.
Davide Dolphin is swimming around you and telling us a secret to waking up.
It's to make the biggest bubbles.
Keep your eyes closed.
Open your mouth as wide as it goes,
Taking in a big yawn,
And then slowly close your mouth as you breathe out.
Try it again.
This time,
Picture a big shiny rainbow bubble slowly coming out of your mouth and into the water with your yawn.
Great job.
Oh,
Prince Davide is now swimming away after your pretty bubble.
Take both hands in front of you and wave,
Making more bubbles in the water.
Bye,
Prince Davide.
Have a good day.
Bye-bye.
Now with one last deep breath in,
Open your eyes and stretch your arms up,
Up,
Up to the sky.
Put your arms down and breathe in and wiggle your body.
That's right.
Wiggle,
Wiggle,
Wiggle.
Good morning.
I'm so glad we could wake up together.
That was so much fun.
You did a great job.
