Trusting Your Body (When Healing Hurts)
by Reuben Lowe
Sometimes the body brings forward strong sensations, emotional triggers or difficult feelings, and the mind immediately responds with I can’t handle this or something is wrong. This can be particularly powerful when we’re navigating stress, anxiety, trauma or emotional healing. This reflection from When Healing Hurts explores learning to listen to the body with curiosity rather than immediately treating what we feel as a problem that needs to disappear. Through mindfulness, trauma-informed understanding, body awareness and emotional processing, we gently explore our capacity to remain present with what arises. An invitation towards greater self-trust, inner awareness, healing, spiritual growth and deeper connection with ourselves and our bodies, ending with a short rhyming affirmation.
