Sensational Scotland,
A spiritual sleep story.
Hello and welcome to this sleep story.
My name is Ruben,
This is close to my heart.
I'm from the UK,
And I was born in Scotland.
Before we get into this,
Let's find that refuge within us,
A little meditation to help us settle.
Sensing around me,
My immediate surroundings,
And all is well.
Sensing around me,
My immediate surroundings,
And I am safe.
The chimes gently call out to me that I am safe,
That I am nurturing myself,
And that I deserve this.
This very moment.
Sensing around me,
Noticing what I can see behind my closed eyes,
I am gentle awareness.
Sensing around me,
As my body breathes at its own rate and rhythm.
With each out breath,
My body melts just a little more.
In breath,
Out breath.
I allow my body to soften,
Soft and softening.
In breath,
Out breath.
I allow my body to melt,
Melt and melting.
In breath,
Out breath.
Softening and melting are good for me.
They activate my alpha brainwave state,
And then deeper into theta as my body rests itself.
And my body heals itself inside this conscious inner refuge that I have created.
In breath,
Out breath,
This safe space for me.
I am here for this sleep story.
I am here for me.
This sleep story is about you.
As the sun sets,
Casting a warm golden hue over the rugged landscape,
You arrive in Scotland The horizon blends amber and rose as it meets the jagged highlands.
The journey begins in Edinburgh,
Where ancient stone buildings whisper tales of the past.
Edinburgh Castle stands on its rocky perch,
A dark guardian against the evening sky.
You wander the cobbled streets of the Royal Mile.
This is an historic series of streets in the heart of Edinburgh.
It is lined with historic buildings,
Shops and restaurants.
The air fills with distant bagpipes,
And the scent of freshly baked shortbread.
The spiritual energy of this ancient city is palpable.
You feel connected to the countless souls who walked these paths before.
All these spiritual beings,
All these years ago,
Having a human experience,
Just like you.
The stones of Edinburgh Castle resonate with timeless wisdom,
And you feel reverence for the history that surrounds you.
Each step on the worn cobblestones echoes with whispers of the past,
Filling you with a sense of spiritual belonging.
As night falls,
You find yourself at the foot of Arthur's Seat.
Arthur's Seat is a dormant volcano that has been long extinct and now stands as a prominent hill in Edinburgh,
Offering panoramic views of the city.
The volcanic activity that shaped Arthur's Seat is thought to have happened 350 million years ago.
The sky is painted with pink and purple,
And the twinkling lights of Edinburgh create a magical tapestry.
You take a deep breath,
Filling your lungs with crisp,
Cool air,
And feel a sense of calm wash over you.
And then you drift away,
Up,
Higher,
Floating in the sky.
The next day,
You venture into the highlands,
Where the landscape transforms into wild beauty.
Rolling hills,
Covering the heather,
Stretch as far as the eye can see.
Pristine locks mirror the sky,
Their surfaces like glass.
You hike through Glen Coe,
Its dramatic peaks and valleys steeped in natural beauty and historical significance.
The serenity of the Glen is palpable,
And you pause to listen to a nearby stream,
Feeling at peace.
It is in this sacred space where you feel a deep connection to the Earth.
The highlands are where the veil between the physical and spiritual worlds feels thin,
And you sense the ancient,
Loving energy that watches over these sacred lands.
The scent of pine and moss fill your senses,
So typical of the Scottish highlands,
Grounding you in the present while also connecting you to the past.
Continuing your journey,
You eventually arrive at Loch Ness.
The deep,
Mysterious waters are still shrouded in mist.
You can almost imagine the legendary Nessie beneath the surface.
You decide to manifest a boat,
And as if by magic,
One appears.
This boat gives you a tour,
The gentle rocking lulling you into relaxation as you gaze at the hills and forests.
You are told tales of the loch's history and folklore.
This just adds to the enchantment of Scotland.
The loch's waters hold mystical energy,
And as you gaze into their depths,
You feel a sense of wonder.
The legend of the Loch Ness monster reminds you of the mysteries that still exist,
Encouraging openness to the unknown.
The earliest recorded sightings are from the 6th century,
Known as Nessie in these modern times,
Gaining popularity in the 1930s after a series of sightings and photographs,
Sparking widespread curiosity and expeditions.
The tale of Nessie is now an iconic part of Scottish folklore and attracts visitors from all around the world.
As your journey through Scotland comes to an end,
You find yourself in a cosy cottage in a small village.
The fire crackles in the hearth,
Casting a warm glow.
And here you are,
Wrapped in a warm tartan blanket,
Sipping on hot tea,
Reflecting on the wonders you've experienced,
The tranquility,
The rich history,
The breathtaking landscapes have left an indelible mark on your soul.
With the comforting sounds of nature outside,
The distant hoot of an owl,
And the whisper of the wind through trees,
You close your eyes.
As your heart is filled with the magic of Scotland.
As I drift off to sleep,
I carry memories of this sensational journey,
Knowing Scotland will always hold a special place in my dreams.
The spiritual energy of the land,
The wisdom of this energy,
And the mystical beauty of its landscapes,
Will continue to inspire and guide me into restful sleep.
