This is for kids who love animals and would like to open up their senses to the external world to be present and even more connected. This is both a gentle talk with a meditative feel to it. This kids’ meditation has an array of sounds from a jungle to a safari. We get to absorb ourselves not only in this array of sounds, but also a moment of time to appreciate just what’s around us in the very room we are in right now.

Hello and welcome to Sensory Safari We are going to have fun today because we are going to imagine and we're going to pretend So let's get on with this Sensory Safari Sensory means the things that we can experience and Safari means places where they have lots of animals What can we experience today in Sensory Safari?

Let's see what animals we will sense today Okay,

Let's get into this What can you hear right now?

Wow,

We've just entered a special scene A special place We're in a lush,

Vibrant jungle A place that is brimming with life and sounds Maybe you'd like to close your eyes and absorb these sounds and then imagine what you can see in your mind What shapes can you see?

What colours can you see?

Now let's listen for some specific sounds within the jungle Listen carefully because there's going to be some bird song coming in soon And now listen carefully because there's going to be a rustle in the leaves And what about this?

Can you hear the very distant roar of a waterfall?

Notice the sounds around you happening all at once And what is it like to actually open your eyes and really see what your room is like around you right now?

You could even pretend that your room is a jungle Look around and see all of the amazing colours in your room The amazing shapes of things in your room Okay,

Now let's get back to the safari Are you ready?

Because there's some animals here Now we're going to move out of the jungle So we're on the edge of the jungle Let's have a look First off,

Our first animal is the lion The lion is the king of the jungle With all the other lions in the pride This long hair is called the mane Shall I touch it to see if it is nice and soft?

Okay,

I'm just going to move forward and just see if I can give it a touch Oh,

There we go,

Ready?

Oh dear,

The lion didn't like that Oh,

Goodbye Mr.

Lion,

Let's move on Look over there That elephant is huge Elephants are the largest land animal in the world They are known to be very clever They use their trunks to pick up sticks to scratch themselves They also have a very good memory Shall I see if I can stroke the elephant's trunk?

Here we go,

Let's get a little bit closer There,

Oh dear,

The elephant thought I had a banana And I haven't got anything Have you got a banana?

Oh no,

Sorry Mr.

Elephant I know,

I'm really sorry We're both really sorry,

Do you forgive us?

Okay,

Thank you Okay,

Now we've been out of the jungle for a while,

Let's go back into the jungle Imagine the smells coming from the jungle You might like to close your eyes and imagine It could be the smell of the earth at your feet after the rain Or the smell from the flowers You can imagine yourself breathing these smells in And now what you might like to do as you walk through the jungle Is imagine the ground beneath your feet Maybe the warmth from the jungle Or anything else that you may notice And now finally imagine that you stop walking And you fully immerse yourself in all the sounds of the jungle all at once The sounds from within the jungle And the sounds from outside of the jungle Next time you go on a walk in nature Maybe you can pretend once more that it's like you're in a jungle Seeing all of the things that you can see Feeling all of the things that you can feel Thank you for being here This is something you might like to talk about with your mum,

Your dad or your favourite teacher See you next time Goodbye

My four grand children loved this. I played it when they were in bed last night ( after playing two other children’s tracks) and they all went to sleep. It was a miracle! Thanks Reuben 🙏💛🙏
