Details
We warmly invite you to relax and unwind in the tranquil setting of Strathean Retreat Centre, surrounded by native trees and an orchard on the beautiful Kāpiti Coast, Wellington, New Zealand. This six-day retreat offers the opportunity to slow down and gently return to inner stillness, and to rediscover a sense of clarity and calm through the practice of Yoga Nidra. You’ll also be supported by complementary sessions of guided meditation, yoga, and sound healing. Our focus will be on activating and balancing the third eye chakra. When the third eye chakra is blocked or imbalanced, it may manifest as a lack of clarity, difficulty trusting our intuition, reduced creativity, or a sense of disconnection from our spiritual self. Through the practices offered, you’ll be supported to quieten mental noise, reconnect with your spiritual insight, and expand your inner wisdom—leaving you feeling refreshed, realigned, and deeply connected. Your main facilitators are Ian and Alicia Melrose, and they will be joined by Shelley, Jude, and Dana, whose offerings are detailed under the Highlights section. In addition to facilitated sessions, the schedule includes plenty of time for self-directed rest and reflection. You’re welcome to visit the retreat library, take a mindful walk, journal, or engage in your own meditation practice. Optional 1-on-1 meetings with Ian will also be available. All sessions, accommodation, and food are included in the retreat cost. Enjoy nourishing vegetarian meals, primarily gluten and dairy-free. We kindly ask for a small contribution to one potluck-style meal during the week. The retreat is a hands-on experience, with guests participating in meal preparation, clearing up and washing dishes. All good fun and in the spirit of sharing a communal space. To support the ongoing accessibility of this retreat, you're warmly invited to offer a donation afterwards — if you feel inspired. Contributions from past participants have helped us maintain affordable costs, a wonderful example of pay-it-forward and a tradition we gratefully continue. Please note: Arrival time on the first day is 1pm and finish time on the last day is 2pm. The retreat will be held primarily in Noble Silence, offering a peaceful environment for deep reflection. It is asked that all shoes are kept out of the housing areas, so we suggest bringing slippers.
