Details

We'll dig into the stories and thoughts causing upset, and question them using the four questions and turnarounds known as The Work of Byron Katie. You'll practice entering the natural space where you know you are complete, whole, and just right as you are—a place beyond a frantic mind...beyond belief. What do you think and believe that leads you to conclude you are somehow defective? Could you be mistaken? When we question our stressful stories together, we receive inspiration from others, insight, and a true connection--mostly to ourselves. The Work has offered people not only a reduction in stress or mental health issues, but beyond that to an experience of peace and even liberation from the thought-identified mind. Facilitated by Grace Bell, a long-time practitioner of The Work who welcomes participants to her cozy backyard space full of natural light, surrounded by trees, fostering healing. Everyone will be guided every step of the way. Open to all beginners and experienced students of Byron Katie or any form of self-inquiry. For those who Come From Away, we can help with Airbnb or hotels nearby if you need accommodation. There is one space in a loft for sleeping for someone who is adept at climbing a ladder.

Schedule

This work-with-grace retreat offers a deep dive into self-inquiry to help you uncover and question the beliefs that cause stress and discomfort in life, both day-to-day and in a single relationship or issue you find troubling. Over the course of three days, you'll engage in group sessions, partner exercises, silent walking meditation, physical movement, and personal reflection, all designed to guide you toward recognizing your inherent completeness and wholeness. Whether you're new to The Work or have prior experience, this retreat provides a supportive environment to explore your thoughts and find clarity. From Day 1, there will be support for every participant to learn how to facilitate this profound self-inquiry process step-by-step. This includes identifying what exactly you're thinking that causes your stress, sadness, despair, or irritation. To see the thinking that fuels pain and suffering, and to question it, can offer immense insight into navigating forward in life in new and different ways. There's no need to get rid of a thought, only to question it.

Testimonials

info

Grace is lovely. Willing, receptive, welcoming to it all. She lives The Work.

I always believed I was a person who prefers the sidelines, not a “doer”. But I wake up now thinking “oh, I wonder what will happen today” and I feel the freedom to make choices that are the best for me, today not yesterday, not tomorrow. Sure, my life is not perfect, but I also don't seek a perfect life. So thank you Grace for setting up this program.

Debbie, United States

My first retreat with Grace got me slowing down. Doing The Work with others has a snowball effect. The more I do it, the better I feel, the better I am in the world. The biggest juice is ME doing The Work, not necessarily watching Katie do The Work online. It’s so sweet to notice how different I am.
