Welcome to this fire meditation to get ready,

Sit in a comfortable position,

Set up a flame,

A candle,

Or if you're in front of a fireplace,

Or imagine that you're sitting in front of a large fire,

That it's warming you,

There's a gentle breeze on your face.

Let's set our motivation.

I am going to do this meditation in order to attain enlightenment so that I can help all beings attain that state as well.

I am going to do this meditation in order to attain enlightenment.

Take a few moments to settle your breath.

Now,

Bring your attention to the flame.

Light only on the flame,

On the random continuous burning of the flame.

Note the gentle smoke and energy that radiates from it.

Breathe in the energy it releases.

Envision its warmth comforting you.

Imagine that the flame gladly accepts your feelings.

If you are irritated or tired or have anxiety,

Gently allow those feelings to feed into the flame.

Imagine that the flame uses them as fuel and then gently radiates out love.

As you breathe,

You breathe in the love radiating from the flame.

The flame is limitless.

It can accept any emotion,

Any hardship,

Any difficulty.

Release any difficult feeling you have into the flame.

Let the flame burn it away and radiate back its love.

Stay right here in the present moment.

Accept whatever frame your mind is in.

Do not force or judge any feelings that come up.

If your attention strays or you focus on other feelings,

Notice that that has happened and gently bring your attention back to the flame.

Feel its warmth radiating onto you and be content just as you are.

Let the flame radiate its love to you and feel that love.

The simplicity of this meditation is just what is been looking for. I especially appreciated the longer period without talking, but with gentle background sound to anchor the mind to. Thank you!
