It's safe to relax.
Hello and welcome to this guided journaling exercise for practicing appreciation.
Really savoring the sweet and beautiful moments in life,
No matter how small.
Where our attention and focus goes,
Energy flows.
So the more we appreciate,
The more there is in our life to appreciate.
As one of the most transformative tools I know,
Normal days become magical as it increases your ability to notice and enjoy beautiful moments as they arise.
To do this exercise,
All you need is a blank piece of paper or a journal and something to write with.
And when you're ready,
Sit somewhere quiet,
Somewhere you won't be disturbed for the next ten minutes or so.
And let's take three deep centering breaths together,
In for a count of three and out for a count of five.
In for three.
.
.
Out for five.
.
.
In for three.
.
.
Out for five.
.
.
Let your breathing return to its normal and natural cadence.
Relax your face.
Relax your mind.
Feel your shoulders relax as your heart softens and opens.
Let your body be easy and relaxed here.
And for the next five minutes or so,
Using the prompt,
I love,
Begin to create a list of things you genuinely enjoy,
Love and appreciate.
I encourage you to get as specific as you can and write as close to your now moment as possible.
So see if you can keep everything within the last week or so,
Or even better from today.
To get specific,
When something pops into your mind,
Ask,
Why do I love this so much?
Or why does this feel good to me?
If you're able to,
See if you can prioritize specific moments over objects,
People and circumstances in general.
For example,
Instead of my friend,
I would write,
When Nora and I biked to the beach to eat our burritos while the sun set.
Now there's no pressure to write an essay here and there are no right or wrong answers.
This is a time of you connecting to what genuinely makes your heart swell and sing.
Little moments,
The big ones and everything in between.
So ask yourself,
What do I love?
What makes my heart warm to see or experience what feels good to me?
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
You'll hear a soft chime when the 5 minutes have passed.
Notice how you feel now,
Perhaps a little lighter,
Warmer,
More expansive.
You might even say thank you out loud or silently in your mind.
Thank you to yourself for taking the time to appreciate.
Thank you to everything on your list.
Thank you to the gift of life that allows you to enjoy all these wonderful moments.
I encourage you to do this practice as often as you can.
Journaling is a great way to do it.
You can also practice with my daily living meditation on appreciation,
Or my living life coach meditation.
Both of which I will link in the description.
The more time you spend in this beautiful energy,
The more you'll attract wonderful experiences to enjoy and appreciate.
Appreciation really is the closest thing to magic that I know.
Breathe in,
Breathe out.
Thank you so much for joining me here today.
Your presence is a present,
And I appreciate you.
Namaste.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
