Settle into your preferred,
Comfortable position and allow your body to find a posture that feels relaxed and supported.
Feel the ground beneath you,
Connecting you to the Earth's steady presence,
Supporting you so that you can find the ease of just being,
Not doing.
Now gently close your eyes,
Your windows to the wider world and go inwards,
Into the depths and stillness of your own inner world,
Inviting a sense of calm to wash over you like a wave.
Feel every part of your body surrendering to the ease of this wave of calm.
No resisting,
Settling into its easy flow.
With each deeper breath,
Sweet one,
Sink deeper into this tranquil state,
Creating more sweet space with each breath you gently breathe.
Now settle your awareness on your breath for a moment.
Feel the rhythmic tide that ebbs and flows within you,
Connecting you to the universal pulse of life.
With each inhale,
Feel your chest rise to invite in more peace and tranquility.
With each exhale,
Any busyness or heaviness melts away,
Leaving you lighter and more at ease,
More in tune with the wave of calm with every breath in and out.
Now shift your focus to your eyes,
The windows to the world and your soul.
Kindly thank them for their tireless work,
Absorbing all they do.
Then signal to them that it's time to soften and relax,
Time to take a break from all the looking and seeing and time to look inwards instead.
Imagine your eyes as two gentle pools of water,
Reflecting the beauty and serenity of the world within and around.
With each blink,
Feel them releasing any fatigue,
Allowing them to find peaceful sanctuary.
Now bring your awareness to your jaw and tongue.
Be aware if they are feeling tight,
Invite them to gently soften and let go.
Find a feeling of release in the muscles there and a feeling of softness spreading through your entire being in ripples and waves of calm.
Feel your tongue to rest gently in your mouth,
A feeling silent sigh of relief where any tightness evaporates like morning mist under the sun's gentle rays,
Leaving behind a sense of spaciousness and ease.
Now shift your attention to your hands,
Arms,
Palms and fingers.
Feel them resting gently in your lap,
Palms upturned in a gesture of openness and receptivity.
With each breath,
Feel your fingers uncurl,
Gently stretching out the little joints within your hands.
Visualize the breath flowing through your hands,
Opening your palms to the sky,
Releasing any residual tension or holding.
Feel them softly receiving more of that same ease as you bask in this newfound sense of spaciousness and openness.
With each inhale,
Invite in a sense of calm to fill every fiber of your being with warmth and light.
With each exhale,
Feel any residual tension remaining drift away like autumn leaves on a gentle breeze.
Feel it melt into open space,
Breathe it away.
