Welcome to our meditation space.
My name is Maria.
Today's practice invites you to return to your center and ground through a mantra meditation.
Mantras are sacred sounds that hold intention and energy.
They are powerful tools to calm and focus the mind.
Mantras can also help us reconnect to our higher self.
And when we commit to a daily mantra practice,
Continually returning to the mantra,
When our mind becomes agitated,
Then the power of the mantra increases and we begin to experience transformation and healing at many levels.
The mantra for today is GAM.
It is a Sanskrit mantra,
A seed mantra for the root chakra.
GAM holds a primal sound of the earth,
Bringing in a sense of structure,
Support and balance.
GAM is also a mantra of new beginnings,
Helping us remove obstacles and clear the path as we start something new.
So let's begin our meditation.
Go ahead and find a comfortable position.
You can choose to lay down or sit.
And when you're ready,
Go ahead and close the eyes,
Bringing the attention inwards.
You can place one hand on your chest,
One hand on your belly,
Taking a moment to arrive,
Feeling the breath,
Gently noticing every inhale,
Every exhale.
As you're ready,
You can begin to deepen the breath,
Inhaling deeply through the nostrils,
Through the belly,
And slowly exhale,
Deepening the breath and slowing down,
Allowing each breath to bring you back into this moment.
Begin to bring the awareness into your heart space,
Noticing how you're feeling,
Welcoming your human experience.
And then take a moment to set an intention for this meditation.
And then begin to ground into your body,
Feeling the breath deep down at the lower belly,
And bringing your awareness down into the base of your spine,
Feeling the breath.
And you can begin to visualize a shining star right at the base of the spine,
Your root center,
Root chakra,
The energy of structure,
Support,
Grounding energy.
We're going to begin to activate that energy through sound,
Through the mantra GAM.
So take a deep inhale into the base of the spine,
Breathing deep,
And then exhale,
Letting go completely.
Take a deep inhale again into the base of your spine,
And exhale,
Letting go.
And one last breath,
Breathe in into the base of the spine,
Exhale,
Letting go.
Now having your awareness at the base of the spine,
Imagining that shining star,
The energy of the earth,
We'll begin to simply repeat the mantra GAM GAM GAM Noticing the effects.
Now we'll repeat the mantra,
Adding a little bit more of a chanting quality to the repetition.
So we'll inhale into the base of the spine,
And with the exhalation we'll chant the mantra.
Breathing in,
Imagine the energy of the root chakra expanding down through the legs,
Down through the feet,
Grounding you.
Breathing in again,
Exhale the sound GAM Once again,
Breathing in,
A few more times on your own,
And then softer and softer repetitions,
Softer and softer.
Feeling the vibration of the mantra.
You can mentally or out loud repeat to yourself,
I am grounded,
I am grounded,
I am grounded,
I am grounded,
I am center,
I am center,
I am center.
Imagining that shining star at the base of the spine,
Vibrating light,
Energy.
Visualize it becoming brighter and brighter,
Feeling the energy,
The light moving through you and around you,
Bringing that supportive earth energy into your whole body,
Into your heart,
Clearing all obstacles,
Clearing the path for new beginnings,
For healing,
For transformation.
Coming back to the mantra,
GAM,
GAM.
Feeling,
Noticing,
Imagining the vibration of the sound,
Moving beyond the body,
Creating a feel of protection,
Creating a feel of positive energy,
Calming and focusing the mind.
Begin to bring your awareness back into your heart space,
Feeling the breath,
Feeling the mantra,
And just stay here for a moment,
Noticing the inner sounds,
Inner vibration,
Staying in touch with the breath,
Aligning body,
Mind,
And spirit,
Aligning with the energy of the earth,
Feeling grounded,
Center,
Supported.
Clear,
Calm,
Focus.
Draw your awareness down into the soles of the feet,
Feeling the energy of the feet and the legs,
Feeling the bones,
Feeling the muscles,
Feeling your body,
And then slowly beginning to come back,
Gently moving fingers and toes,
And opening up the eyes when you're ready.
