As we know,
Science has provided evidence that the universe and everything in it is made up of energy.
This energy is always moving and transforming and shifting based on our beliefs,
Our intentions,
Our environment,
And what we choose to focus on.
The elements of earth,
Water,
Fire,
Air,
They exist in our environment,
But they also exist on an energetic level within us.
So today we're going to work with the earth element to help us ground our energy.
So when you're ready,
Go ahead and gently close your eyes,
Getting into your most comfortable seated position.
Your spine should be nice and long and supported.
And when you feel ready,
Just allow your eyes to float closed.
Now take a full breath in and a long breath out.
And just notice the rhythm of your breathing.
Just let it wash over you like ocean waves.
And begin to pull your attention inward,
Focusing on the sound and sensation of your breath.
Inhale and exhale.
Notice the way your thoughts slow down as you allow your body to fully relax and become conscious of your breath.
Notice the pauses in your breathing and begin to expand into those spaces between your breaths.
Just keep breathing quietly just like this.
Take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it and let it go through an open mouth.
Just keep breathing quietly on your own just like this.
Inhale and exhale.
Now bring your attention to your physical body.
So much of our day is housed in tension and tightness.
So let's just take a moment to relax all of that.
Starting from the crown of your head,
Allow everything to begin to soften.
Relaxing the muscles in your forehead.
Softening those tiny muscles all around your eyes.
Relaxing your mouth and jaw.
Relaxing the muscles in your neck and shoulders.
Relaxing your chest.
Relaxing your arms,
Your hands.
Softening your belly.
Relaxing your hips.
Relaxing your legs and feet.
Letting everything go.
Begin by bringing your attention to your tailbone.
Notice where this part of your body is making contact with the seat below you and just become aware of this connection to the earth.
Now imagine tree roots shooting straight out of your tailbone and extending deep into the core of the earth.
Visualize these roots moving from your tailbone past the floor,
Through the building,
Bursting through layers of rock and sediment until they finally reach down into the center of the earth's core.
See these roots grow and spread,
Really rooting you into this present moment.
While you breathe,
Let any negative,
Heavy or uncomfortable feelings escape your body by releasing that energy through the tailbone all the way down into the center of the earth.
Any pain,
Any frustration,
Anger,
Any energetic imbalances within you,
Feel them move down and out through your tailbone directly into the center of the earth to be recycled.
And now bring this pure,
Solid,
Supportive,
Grounding energy of earth and all that she represents to you back up your roots and through your tailbone,
Inviting this energy to flow to your hips,
Your legs and your feet and really allow this energy to anchor you.
Really just give yourself the next few minutes to really see yourself in your own space and to see yourself rooted as you breathe.
Jai Gautam!
And we affirm to yourself,
I release any energy that isn't mine.
I release any energy in my space that doesn't belong to me.
And I call forward all of my clean,
Positive,
Shiny energy to radiate out.
And take a couple breaths here.
Just feeling that space of expansiveness,
Allowing your space to be filled with all of you.
Feel how grounded you are.
Start to become aware of yourself in this room,
In this space,
And in this time.
Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Thank you very much for joining in meditation with me today.
And just remember,
You can come back to this simple grounding meditation anytime you feel off center,
Off balance,
Agitated,
Or just disconnected.
You can always tap into the energy of the earth and release what's no longer serving and invite in nourishing,
Healthy,
Grounding energy.
Namaste.
