This is a mantra meditation about sweet surrender.
Find your most comfortable position,
Making sure your back is elongated and supported.
And as you settle in,
Set the intention for this journey to experience full surrender and letting go.
Allow your eyes to gently float closed and bring your awareness to your physical body.
Bring your attention to your arms,
Which should be resting naturally and comfortably.
Just allow them to become weightless.
As you breathe in and out of your nose,
Feel any tension leaving your shoulders,
Your upper arms,
Your forearms,
Your hands,
All the way down to your fingertips.
As you continue to breathe,
Feel anything that has been worrying you drift away.
Feel tension leaving your thighs,
Your knees,
Your calves,
Your ankles,
Right out through your feet and your toes.
And now begin relaxing your neck.
Let your head go.
Relax your spine.
Breathe deeply in through your nose,
Expanding your belly and filling your lungs.
Pause for a moment.
Release the air now out of your mouth with a calming sigh.
Breathe in again through your nose.
Pause at the top of your inhale and then exhale through an open mouth.
As you continue to breathe deeply and feel the weight of life dissipate just a little bit,
Bring your attention to letting go of whatever has been weighing you down.
Just surrender.
An image that comes to mind when we are surrendering is someone who has lost a battle and is succumbing to someone or something else.
But this is not what surrender is from an energetic perspective.
To surrender is not to waver or to sacrifice or to give up.
To surrender is not to be silenced.
It does not nor should not require you to lose yourself in another,
Another person,
Another viewpoint,
Another space,
Another's dream.
Rather to surrender is to be unshakable,
To be unwavering,
To trust yourself and your purpose and your creator so completely that you can weather any storm.
Not just weather the storm,
But welcome it.
Not just welcome it,
But surrender to it.
Not just surrender to it,
But grow from it.
It's feeling so completely safe and rooted in your being that you are surrendering to your destiny,
To the unknown,
To the limitless potential that is in you and all around you.
Now we're going to start incorporating our mantra.
Today we're going to use the mantra Om Shanti.
Om is the universal vibration of creation and Shanti means peace.
We're going to use this mantra as your anchor for your practice today.
As you breathe in,
Silently and internally repeat Om and as you exhale,
Silently and internally repeat Shanti.
Om Shanti.
Om Shanti.
Om Shanti.
Om Shanti.
Keeping your eyes closed,
I want you to silently affirm to yourself,
When fear tightens its grip on me,
I surrender to love.
When I feel myself getting stuck,
I surrender to flow.
Om Shanti.
When my physical or emotional body feels heavy and bogged down,
I just surrender to it.
Surrender completely,
Letting it all go.
When I feel disappointment starting to infiltrate my emotional body because something hasn't worked out according to my expectations,
I surrender to trust.
Trusting the universe has a better plan for me,
A greater purpose in store.
Now take one final inhale in through the nose and exhale,
Letting it all go with grace and ease,
Knowing that self-transformation is certain and that when you surrender to the process,
You will be most supported and held by the universe.
