Sometimes people have difficulty because it seems that spiritual teachers are contradicting themselves sometimes.
But really it's quite a challenge to embrace the multi-facets of this ambiguous existence of duality and turn it into understandable soundbites in a way.
So really if somebody didn't want to contradict themselves at all,
Basically they'd be restricted to what Christ said were the most important commandments which were,
You know,
Love thy God with all thy heart and all thy soul,
All thy might.
Which is basically another way of saying this above all,
To thine own self be true.
And the other one is,
You know,
Do unto others as you would be done to,
Like love thy neighbour as thyself.
And basically that's it,
You know,
I mean,
End of story.
It's just that it can be so confusing when we take these things out into this multi-faceted ambiguous existence and try to live that way.
So spiritual teachers will sort of,
It's like a kaleidoscope,
It changes with every turn so different aspects are highlighted with every talk.
So,
You know,
You could talk about child rearing,
Talk about the most,
You know,
How unconditional love of your children is just so important.
But then,
You know,
Might also talk about how sometimes you have to be hard as nails if a child is going against their true nature or setting up circumstances that are going to cause them a great heartbreak in the middle in their later existence.
And then,
You know,
We always have to make room for our humanity.
So,
You know,
When I was raising kids,
You know,
About child rearing,
When I was raising my boys,
There wasn't much input from their dad at all.
And so it was all on my shoulders and as they got older,
With their deep voices and they got taller than me,
And I would keep doing this surrendering inside me to what,
You know,
What they were saying and I would kind of do this surrendering.
But they were just teenage boys,
You know,
They didn't know that much.
So I used to feel like,
Wow,
I'm getting,
This is,
We're getting very far from where I want to be as a mom.
And so actually it was a turning to the universe,
Turning to God for help that helped me with this because the feminine energy will do this surrendering.
I mean,
We,
You know,
Maleness and femaleness,
They're strength and weaknesses.
And one of the great things about the feminine energy is that she has the capacity to surrender.
But then,
You know,
You don't want to surrender to the wrong thing.
Like two young testosterone fueled teenage boys.
Anyway,
It's live and learn.
