The Early Purple Orchid (Orchis mascula) is one of the first orchids to flower in the UK. It symbolises transformation, inner strength, and a connection to the natural world. The striking purple colours stand out vibrantly amongst the blades of spring grass inviting you to stop and just be. This recording was made in mid-April with a plant that appeared the previous year, on the banks edging an old castle green. Listening to the songs of wild plants is a way to deepen your connection to nature and notice the energy of wild flora. It's a gentle rewilding of the soul. Each track is created by the plant using a plant music device. All the plants are recorded in their natural habitats and communities. Not all of the plants are musical to the human ear but they are all good conversationalists. I hope you enjoy this conversation.
