Walking On Carpets Of Gold

A lingering summer of sun,

Vibrant greens morphing into deeper hues,

With each ray and passing day,

Soaking up the light and glow.

A long summer drifts to its end,

The warmth begins to wane,

The days curtailing their dance minute by minute.

The trees will not let you forget the summer's warmth,

In the cool fading light,

The leaves transform.

Greens into golds,

Lighting up the landscape with the memories of the summer sun,

Releasing rays of sunshine onto the breeze,

Raining warmth and light,

Dancing leaves flurrying through the air,

Turning to carpets of gold.

So you may walk upon the sun,

Feel the warmth of summer coursing through you in the crisp autumn air,

Reminding you of the wheel of life and the promises waiting for you in the returning sun.
