A 10 minute guided meditation for developing focus. My name is Peter Jones, and I'll be your guide in this potent practice. Grab a comfortable seat and we'll jump right in. It will help if you can gaze at a candle, running water, or trees blowing in the wind, as we will start with our eyes open and resting our focus on some gentle motion. Mid-way through, we will close our eyes and try to recreate the motion with our mind's eye. This is a gentle and loving way to increase your ability to hold focus. Find a comfortable position and begin to relax.

Let your eyes rest on the motion before you.

Watching the movement and letting it consume your awareness,

All of your thoughts.

Bringing your focus back to the motion when you find your mind has wandered.

Simply encouraging your mind to hold one subject for extended periods of time.

Returning your focus back to this motion as often as you need.

Knowing that important thoughts that come up will have your full attention in time.

But right now,

Bring your attention back to the motion.

And now,

Gently close your eyes to recreate the image in your mind.

Allowing your mind to focus on and give attention to the thought of this motion.

Coming back to the thought of the motion every time you remember to.

And before we end,

Reflect on your experience.
