Hi and welcome.
Step one notice.
Just take a few moments to ask yourself how you feel today,
How you're doing,
How your heart is today.
And all we're doing here is noticing,
Observing how we feel.
Step two,
Breathe.
Just move your focus now onto your breath.
Just notice how your breath moves in and moves out.
And notice how when you tune to it,
That it is constant.
Before you brought your attention here you're breathing and smile at that thought,
The constancy of your breath.
And now just begin to connect your heart and your breath together.
Imagine your breath flowing in and out of your heart and their invitation to you as they join together in the steady rhythm of you,
The invitation to relax.
Let everything go,
The day,
Your mind,
For these few brief moments.
Step three,
Activate.
Being grateful is highlighted as one of the positive emotional states that builds a pathway to love and to peace.
And many of us have a gratitude practice that helps to cultivate this emotion.
But there are days,
There are times when it's a struggle.
There are so many parts of life that prevent us from feeling grateful and there are some things that we are unable to feel grateful for.
When this happens it's usually when we're very stressed.
And so a way for us to move back to ourselves,
To reconnect to our grateful and generous hearts,
Is to call to mind somebody who has inspired you,
Somebody who makes you smile when they arrive in your mind,
Who makes your heart open even a little bit.
And call that person to mind now and just sit for a few moments and breathe in their inspiration.
Feel your cells change,
Your expressions soften and the softness arrive around the hard edges that we all carry.
This is appreciation.
This is a beautiful energy,
Bright and fizzing and alive and it can lift us out of those times when it's hard for us to be grateful.
Step four,
Beam.
Take that energy of appreciation that you have tapped into through this person who has inspired you and let it occupy you.
Intend for it to be absorbed into your body and your mind and for it to be released like beams of light whenever you are in the presence of another being today.
