Good morning.
Before the day begins to move quickly,
Before messages,
Responsibilities and conversations fill your space,
Let's take a few minutes just for you.
A gentle arrival.
Take a comfortable seated position,
Or if you prefer,
You can remain laying down,
Just allowing the body to feel supported.
And when you're ready,
Taking one slow deep breath in through your nose and a long steady breath out through your mouth.
Again,
Breathing in and slowly releasing.
Now allowing your breath to return to its natural rhythm.
There's nothing to control.
Just noticing the sensation of breathing,
The coolness of the inhale,
The softness of the exhale.
And as you sit here,
You might notice thoughts already beginning to organize the day,
Planning,
Remembering,
Anticipating.
That's completely natural.
And for these few minutes,
You don't need to follow these thoughts.
You can just let them pass like clouds moving across the morning sky,
Gently returning to the breath.
Now bringing awareness to the body,
The weight of you in the chair or against the bed,
The contact with the floor.
Simply being here.
How is the body in this moment?
Just as it is.
There is nothing missing,
Nothing to be changed.
Just breathing.
Just being.
Now I would like to invite a simple question.
How do I want to move through today?
Not what do I need to accomplish.
Not what do others expect.
But how do I want to feel?
Maybe it's calm.
Maybe focused.
Maybe patient.
Maybe enlightened.
Or maybe open.
Let one word gently arise.
No forcing,
Just noticing what feels right.
Which word arises?
Let that word settle into the body as if you could breathe it in.
On the inhale,
Inviting that quality in.
And on the exhale,
Allowing it to spread everywhere in you and around you.
Breathing in your intention.
Breathing out steadiness.
Clarity doesn't mean having all the answers.
It simply means being present enough to take the next step.
One breath at a time.
Now slowly,
Deepening the breath,
Feeling the body again.
Maybe gently wiggling the fingers,
The toes.
And when you're ready,
If your eyes were closed,
You can open them.
Bringing this clarity with you into your day.
And remember,
You can return to this breath any time you need.
And you can return to this practice as often as it supports you.
Each morning can be a fresh beginning.
