Good morning.
This meditation is an invitation to practice gratitude before beginning your day.
Starting the day with gratitude is a powerful way to shift the focus of our attention,
Inviting our mind to notice what is positive and supportive in our lives.
Even on difficult days,
It is possible to find something we can feel grateful for.
I invite you to begin by finding a posture that feels comfortable for you right now.
Wherever you are,
This is a moment just for you.
If it feels comfortable,
You may gently close your eyes as we begin this meditation.
Taking a moment to arrive here,
To this moment,
To this posture.
Bringing your attention to the breath,
Noticing the air entering and leaving the body.
If it feels natural,
You might try allowing to exhale slightly slower and longer.
Inviting your body to breathe in a way that feels rhythmic and relaxing for you.
And continuing to allow the breath to flow in its own way.
Perhaps it's possible to imagine a white light above the crown of your head.
A bright light that slowly moves through the body,
Illuminating it,
Touching every cell and surrounding it with protection.
A light that connects you with the rest of the universe and accompanies you in every moment,
Even when you cannot see or feel it.
In this space where you are now,
Surrounded by the protection and illumination of this light,
I invite you to bring to mind something for which you can feel gratitude in this moment.
It may be a person in this world or beyond.
Perhaps a pet,
Or a special moment in your life.
Maybe you feel gratitude for the warmth of the sun touching your skin,
Or for the smile of a stranger.
Whatever comes to mind,
I invite you to simply say thank you.
Allowing your mind to move from one image to another,
Each time saying thank you.
Perhaps many images appear,
People,
Places,
Or moments you feel grateful for.
Or perhaps it is difficult to bring something to mind.
If that's the case,
Remember that you can always return to the sensation of your breath and to the protective light around you.
And each time an image appears,
You may softly repeat thank you,
Again and again,
As many times as you wish.
And as you notice these images,
It may also be possible to notice sensations in the body,
Emotions,
Or subtle shifts in your mood.
Perhaps there are tingling sensations,
Or a change in the temperature of your body.
Maybe there's tenderness in your heart,
Or a sense of expansion throughout your body.
I invite you to notice the impact,
The effect of saying thank you and practicing gratitude for what is already present in your life.
Allowing yourself to remain here for a few more moments,
Sensing any emotions or sensations in the body.
If at any moment you notice a sensation or emotion that feels overwhelming,
Remember that the breath and the protective light are always available to you.
You can return to them at any time.
Now I would like to invite you to imagine all the people who may be practicing this meditation together with you.
Perhaps dozens,
Perhaps hundreds,
Or maybe thousands,
Even millions.
Visualize these people in many different places around the world,
Meditating at the same time.
Each of them surrounded by the same protective white light.
Each of them giving thanks for what they have in their lives.
If it feels right for you,
Perhaps you wish to extend your gratitude toward them as well,
Creating a global network of gratitude.
Noticing how it feels in your body to recognize that you're not alone.
Somewhere in the world,
Someone may be giving thanks for your existence.
Whenever you're ready,
Gently bringing your attention back to your breath or to the sensations of your body in contact with the chair or the floor.
If you wish,
You may place a hand on your heart or another part of your body where you can feel a sense of contact with yourself,
A gesture of care and kindness.
And perhaps to close this practice,
You may offer gratitude to yourself,
For being here,
For taking this moment,
For caring for your body,
Your mind,
And your soul.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
Gratitude is a simple practice,
Yet a powerful one.
Over time,
Training our minds to recognize what is already present in our lives can gently transform the way we experience each day.
If this meditation supported you today,
You're always welcome to return to it,
In the morning,
In moments of difficulty,
Or whenever you wish to reconnect with appreciation and presence.
May you have a beautiful day.
