Hi,
And welcome to this meditation for experiencing appreciative joy.
Come into a comfortable position,
Either seated or lying down.
And just begin to take a few deep breaths here,
Lengthening your inhale and your exhale.
And during these opening breaths,
Just start to notice how you're feeling.
Notice if you're feeling tired or drowsy,
And if so,
Emphasize the inhale.
If you're feeling agitated or restless,
Emphasize the exhale.
And after a few deep breaths,
Allow your breath to come to its natural rhythm and flow.
And now bring to mind a recent joyful moment.
You could also reflect on things that you're grateful for in your life.
Just choose a few moments of joy and gratitude to focus on.
And as you reflect on receiving the joy of these experiences,
Begin to bring your attention into your body.
Notice how you experience joy in this moment.
And where do you feel it in your body?
Maybe it's the chest,
The belly,
The throat or the face.
Is there a temperature to this joy?
Is there a flow or movement to the energy of joy in your body?
Simply continue to breathe and notice how joy feels in your body.
If you lose that felt sense of connection,
Simply recall the images,
People or situations that bring you joy.
And then return to savoring that felt sense of joy in your body,
Breathing into it.
And as you've taken these moments to reflect on the people,
Places or situations that bring you joy,
What were the things that really inspired a felt sense of joy for you?
Begin to reflect on how you can bring more of that into your life.
And as you begin to reflect on the things that really inspired a felt sense of joy in your body,
When you're ready,
Begin to bring your attention back to your environment.
Take a deep breath in and let it out with an audible exhale and begin to reorient yourself to the space around you,
Noticing how you feel right now.
Know that you can come back to this happy place,
This joyful feeling anytime you wish.
You can access peace and cultivate joy by tapping into the power of your own mind.
Thank you so much for joining me in this practice today.
I hope you have an amazing day.
Namaste.
