Welcome to your Kabbalah Bhatti practice,
The skull's shining breath.
This will be a five minute practice to energize and clear the mind.
A quick note before we begin,
This is a strong practice.
So if you're pregnant or you have a heart condition,
High blood pressure,
A respiratory condition or epilepsy,
Skip this one and choose a gentler breath instead.
And if at any point you feel dizzy,
Faint or strained,
Stop and come back to easy breathing through the nose.
So to begin,
Let's sit tall with the spine upright,
The shoulders relaxed.
The hands resting on your thighs.
And let the belly be soft.
This whole practice lives in the exhale.
A short,
Sharp snap of the lower belly inward that pushes the air out through the nose.
And then the belly simply lets go and the air falls back in on its own.
So effort on the way out,
Ease on the way in,
Keeping the shoulders and chest still.
All the movement is from the belly,
The belly like a pump.
Let's try three of these slowly snapping out and just letting the air back in,
Snapping out and again.
Okay,
So that's it.
We're just going to be doing it a little bit quicker.
So let's take one deep breath in to prepare.
And let it go.
Breath in.
.
.
And beginning sharp,
Out through the nose,
About one each second.
Then the inhale,
Take care of itself.
Effort out.
Ease in.
Shoulders soft.
And stop.
Just breathing normally through the nose now.
And just notice as you rest.
The tingling.
The alertness.
Maybe some clearness behind the eyes.
Allowing the breath to settle back to its own pace.
In a few moments we'll begin our second round.
This time 45 seconds.
Let's take a deep breath in to prepare.
Let it go.
Breathing in.
And begin snapping out,
Letting it fall in.
Keeping it rhythmic,
Steady,
Not frantic.
All of the work is in the belly,
Pumping from the belly.
And stop coming back again to normal breathing.
Feel the energy moving.
And let it settle.
If you felt any dizziness in that round.
Stay out of the next one,
Simply keep breathing easily.
If you are comfortable,
Let's come into our third and final round.
60 seconds,
So breath in.
Hit that and go!
Breathing in.
And begin,
Sharp exhale,
Sharp out,
Easy in.
Again,
A steady rhythm,
Not frantic,
Steady.
Halfway staying with your steady rhythm.
Last 10 seconds.
And stop,
Let the breath return to normal.
Nah,
Just sitting with it.
Don't need to do anything.
Notice how you feel compared to five or six minutes ago.
Maybe a little more awake,
Maybe a little clearer.
Take one slow breath in through the nose And a long breath out.
That's your Kapalabhati practice.
Maybe use it in the morning or before focused work.
Not late at night,
It is activating.
You can start with short rounds and progressively build.
Thanks for practicing today.
