Transcript

Welcome to today's short breath work practice.

Today we'll be performing five minutes of conscious connected breath work.

We'll be in a seated position and breathing in and out through the nose.

For the inhale,

Think about being active with your breath,

Bringing breath deep into the body.

And for each exhale,

Just let the breath be relaxed,

Falling away without force or tension.

Finally,

Look to connect the breath so there's no long gaps or pauses.

We breathe fully in,

Then let go.

Fully in and let go.

Almost like one breath is becoming the next.

So let's sit comfortably,

Becoming aware of the sensations of the feet on the ground.

Aware of your hips resting on the chair or the ground.

And let's begin breathing in and out through the nose.

Each inhale is active.

Each inhale,

Dropping a little deeper into the body.

Being patient with yourself as your breath begins to deepen and to open.

And every exhale is relaxed,

Almost like a sigh,

Just a sense of letting go.

Feeling the inhale in the belly,

The ribs,

The chest.

And then the exhale again,

Just falling away.

And as we breathe in this deep and connected way,

You may start to notice some sensations in the body,

Maybe some tingles or other senses of energy moving in the body.

Noticing these sensations,

But just staying with the breath deep into the belly,

Up into the heart space.

Gently letting go,

Then connecting into our next breath.

The inhale,

There's a sense of receiving and being open.

The exhale,

The sense of just gently letting go.

Breathing in,

Welcoming the new.

Breathing out,

Letting go.

Again,

An awareness of any sensations in the body,

But just staying with this connected breath.

Allowing each breath to travel a little deeper and to nourish every cell in your body.

And with every exhale,

Just softening,

Releasing any tension you might be holding,

Trusting yourself and trusting your breath.

Staying connected with these last few full breaths.

Belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

And letting go.

Belly,

Ribs,

Chest,

And letting go.

Now we're gonna come to a close with a few sighs.

So breathing fully in,

Then letting go through an open mouth with a sigh or a sound.

Breathing fully in,

Letting go with a sigh or a sound.

Breathing in to any tension,

Any final tightness you might be holding,

And letting go with a sigh or a sound.

Thank you for practicing with me today.
