Welcome,
This is Padma and this podcast is called Living from the Heart.
And today's meditation is on a particular flavor of unconditional love.
And in my experience,
Unconditional love is rare.
However,
Our pets are beings that naturally are loving.
In this meditation,
I'm going to refer primarily to dogs.
Maybe you have a dog or maybe you grew up with one.
I know that our dog is always happy to see me.
He's always happy to see anyone who comes to the door who's friendly.
So there's this feeling of being welcomed with unconditional love each time I walk in the door.
So if you can just imagine a pet,
A dog,
A cat,
And how they are happy to see you or how they curl up in your lap and the feeling that this brings you.
And for the sweetness of their eyes because our pets don't judge us,
They just love us.
They love us and they invite us to love ourselves unconditionally.
So please take a moment and make yourself really comfortable.
Let your eyes gently close.
Let the lids be heavy and let your eyeballs rest into their sockets.
Take a nice breath.
Breathing and letting everything relax and settle.
Maybe you can imagine a pet that you have or had,
An animal that you're connected to,
And how they sleep in the sun.
How perhaps you might imagine them sprawled out on the carpet,
Basking in the morning sun.
And just imagine that you could rest with them comfortably,
Easefully,
Letting any worries fall away.
Just letting yourself breathe and rest and sensing in to what it's like when a loving animal nuzzles into your side.
You can feel their warmth and the gentleness of their breath.
That's right.
Just let that easeful,
Gentle,
Loving presence infuse your body and let everything soften,
Sensing in to yourself.
And what would it be like to shine the light of unconditional love inside?
Into your own heart.
Taking a moment and feeling this,
Just feeling it.
And perhaps it might be helpful to imagine your pet or friend's pet or a beloved pet from your past and how they shine their unconditional love on you consistently,
Effortlessly,
Easily.
Just let yourself relax into this.
Maybe you have a memory of curling up with your cat or your dog or any other pet.
Or perhaps you have an image from a film or from a book in your mind of an innocent child curled up with a loving pet.
The two resting peacefully in a cocoon of unconditional love.
Feel yourself.
See yourself in this cocoon of unconditional love.
Just taking your time,
Letting yourself rest in unconditional love with ease.
And what if it's true that all parts of you are lovable,
Unconditionally lovable?
So just take a moment and rest your hands together.
Just feel their temperature,
Their softness.
Let yourself rest in love's embrace.
I'm going to give you a couple of minutes to rest into unconditional love.
Let yourself be healed and soothed and nourished in mysterious ways.
And I'll be here with you,
Holding this space.
You're safe.
It's safe to rest.
Safe to trust.
Because you're held in unconditional love.
Nothing's the same in241- Suarez and Avoidments It's like the river self in just five minutes when manoeuvring with blood.
You're allowed to rest in this cocoon of unconditional.
.
.
You've been lost.
You're as location close to it as possible.
And very gently without changing your state,
Just let yourself come back into the room,
Back into the room,
And feel the echoes of unconditional love coursing through your veins,
Pulsating through your whole body,
Every fiber,
Every cell of your being.
And anytime you want to return to this experience of unconditional love,
You can just gently clasp your hands together and it will summon up an experience of unconditional love.
And whenever you pet a cat or a dog who is shining this unconditional love your way,
This too will deepen your experience of unconditional love.
Breathe it in,
Exhale,
Thank you.
