And welcome to the daily insight.

My name is Padma Gordon,

And in today's meditation,

We will focus on how to relax and drift off into a peaceful sleep.

You will receive the most benefit from this meditation if you listen to it at bedtime.

Please make yourself comfortable and enjoy a deeply peaceful sleep.

Let's begin.

Let's begin this meditation with some nice,

Deep breaths.

Just taking your time and enjoying the rising and falling of your breath.

You can feel so good,

So good to take this time for yourself to set yourself up for a deeply peaceful sleep.

Yes,

Enjoying your breath and letting go,

Sensing how your body is held as you're resting comfortably.

And if you need to make any adjustments so that you can be even more comfortable,

Please feel welcome to do so.

And the sound,

The sound of my voice is a signal for everything,

Everything to soften and let go.

Letting go of any tension you may be holding and surrendering,

Opening to this feeling of being held,

Held by the earth.

Feeling how you're safe,

How it's safe for you to begin to drift off into a peaceful slumber.

Yes,

It can feel so good to surrender to gravity.

Feeling the weight of your bones and letting go.

Taking your time,

Taking your time to settle,

Because as the body settles,

So too the mind can settle.

Relax and let go.

This is your time,

Your time.

No one else needs anything at all from you.

It's your time to relax,

To let go of any thoughts about the day or perhaps about what may come tomorrow and simply relax into silence deep inside.

And I'd like you to place your attention at the top of your head.

And this is where a gentle wave of relaxation is beginning and it melts,

It melts down your scalp,

Your forehead,

Down your face,

Gently caressing your eyes.

And as it does,

The lids become heavy and the eyeballs can rest into their sockets and everything drops deeper inside.

Yes,

Just like that.

Sensing this wave of relaxation travels down your face,

Softening around your cheeks,

Your nose,

Your lips,

And especially the jaw.

And perhaps the jaw can soften slightly,

Relaxing down and down.

This wave of relaxation is melting away any tension,

Any stress,

Any strain that you may have been holding in much the same way that an ice cube melts if you put it into hot water,

Melting down and down the back of your head,

Your neck,

And down your shoulders.

Softening,

Releasing,

Loosening any tension you may have been holding.

And down the arms,

Around the elbows,

Forearms,

And down to the palms of your hands,

All the way out through the fingertips,

Letting go of anything you no longer need.

It melts away and is released.

It can feel so good as you allow this gentle wave of relaxation to continue melting down,

Down your chest,

Your belly,

And your whole pelvic region.

And anytime you know this,

You can feel it.

And you can feel it.

You can feel it.

You can feel it.

You can rest into it,

Into the spaciousness.

And this supports you to let go even deeper,

Drifting off into a peaceful sleep as this warm wave of relaxation moves down your back,

Softening all of the muscles,

The tendons,

Down and down around your lower back,

Releasing,

Relaxing,

Letting go.

Letting go as you are ushered into a deeply peaceful,

Restful sleep.

Breathing.

Perhaps noticing how the breath is softened,

Expanded,

Easier.

Right now,

You are creating the pathways to easeful and peaceful sleep.

And every time you listen to this meditation,

Everything that's said and heard goes deeper and deeper still as this wave of relaxation travels gently down your legs,

Around the knees,

And down and down,

The calves and the shins,

All the way,

All the way down,

Around the ankles,

The tops of the feet,

The soles of the feet,

And out through the tips of your toes,

Taking a deep breath and letting go to the next level of restfulness,

Deep,

Deep resting that takes you into a gloriously nourishing,

Peaceful sleep so that the mind can relax,

It can let go,

And be rejuvenated,

Dreaming beautiful dreams,

Digesting everything that has come to be,

And letting it go.

Letting go.

Thinking yourself,

Thinking yourself,

Retaking this time to rest,

Rejuvenate,

Unwind,

Resting into deep sleep,

Being nourished by silence,

Trusting that you will sleep deeply and peacefully,

Deeply and peacefully.

And in the morning,

When you awaken,

You will feel rested,

Nourished,

And at peace.

Rested,

Nourished,

At peace.

Yes.
