Hello,
And welcome to six breaths,
A meditation technique to have you feeling energized,
Purified,
Connected,
Grounded,
Open,
And centered,
All with only taking six simple breaths.
So you may not think you know how to meditate,
But the only skill you need to have for this is breathing.
And the only time you need is just to take six simple breaths.
So let's get started.
First,
A note about the breathing.
Normally we think just breathing in with the lungs,
And exhale.
But with this technique,
We're going to go deeper.
I want you to imagine that every breath you take,
You are breathing in with every cell of your body.
So it's a longer,
Deeper,
More expansive breath you may be used to taking.
So it's going to be an inhale,
Exhale,
And inside you feel the whole body expanding,
Like the space between your cells is getting bigger.
And then when you exhale,
The feeling is every cell in your body is relaxing.
So the first breath is energize yourself.
As you inhale,
Using the cellular breathing,
Inhale energy,
Or chi.
Japanese call it ki.
Indians call it prana.
We call it energy,
Or juju,
Or the force.
So inhaling that energy that's all around you into every cell of your body,
Energizing yourself.
At breath number two,
As you exhale,
Let go of any negative feeling in your body,
In your mind,
In your heart,
So that you become pure,
Or clear,
Like a crystal,
Like water.
So exhale,
Purify yourself.
Third breath,
Inhale.
As you inhale,
Expand up into the sky,
Into the universe.
Feel yourself merging with the universe.
Fourth breath,
Exhale.
As you exhale,
Feel yourself staying big and tall,
And merged with the universe,
But now grounding and connecting to the earth,
Rooting into the earth.
Fifth breath,
Inhale.
The most important breath.
As you inhale,
Feel your chest expand.
Most importantly,
Feel your heart open,
Connecting with nature,
And with the whole world,
Even with all of humanity.
And then,
Breath number six,
Exhale.
Staying energized and purified,
Tall and connected,
Grounded and rooted,
Heart is open.
As you exhale,
Feel all of that settle and center deep inside of yourself.
So,
Six breaths.
Inhale,
Energize yourself.
Exhale,
Purify yourself.
Third breath,
Inhale.
Connect yourself to the universe.
Fourth breath,
Exhale.
Ground yourself into the earth.
Fifth breath,
Open yourself,
Open your heart to all of nature,
The whole world,
And then breath number six,
Exhale.
Center yourself.
Feel all of that connected inside of you.
Now,
I want to give you a simple hand movement that you can do to tie all this together.
This movement comes from the practice of Sheng Zhen meditation.
Sheng Zhen means unconditional love,
And through the practice,
You can open your heart,
Quiet your mind,
Relax your body,
And embody unconditional love.
So,
The movement,
The Zhong Tian movement,
Looks like this.
As you inhale,
Energizing yourself,
Bringing your hands up in front of your mouth,
Making a little space between your palms,
And blow.
Purify yourself.
Let go of any negative feeling,
And then inhale,
Merge with the universe.
Exhale,
Ground down into the earth,
Connect to the earth.
Inhale,
Open your heart,
Connecting with nature,
The whole world,
And then exhale.
Center all that inside of yourself.
And then from this state,
Just,
You can stay as long as you want now.
The whole body is open,
Receiving energy,
Receiving love from the whole universe into your body.
You can also imagine energy and light from your body shining out into the world,
Into nature,
Into the whole universe.
Stay for as long as you like.
Enjoy the state.
The more you practice this six breaths,
The more you practice the Zhong Tian movement,
The more you can cultivate this connection,
Cultivate going into this state,
Purifying yourself,
Opening your heart more and more.
So,
Give it a try.
I hope you enjoy six breaths in the Zhong Tian movement from the practice of Zhong Tian meditation.
