Hi everyone.

This is a guided meditation to help you find what you can do to help the Earth.

Find a comfortable position,

Either sitting or lying down,

And close your eyes if you are comfortable,

Or simply let them go out of focus.

Begin to deepen your breath and let all other thoughts fall from your mind.

Simply concentrate on your inhalations and your exhalations.

After a while,

You open your mind's eye and find yourself in a cool green corridor of thickly wooded trees.

Rising,

You walk softly under the canopy towards the mouth of a cave,

Grateful for their protection from the scorching sun.

As you approach the yawning cavern,

You notice the leaves of the trees are browning and crisping around the edges.

Chanting and shamanic drumming reaches your ears as you enter the cool dampness of the cave.

It is not as dark as you would have imagined.

There is a huge natural opening in the ceiling of the cave.

Scant drips of water fall from its rim,

Feeding a carpet of thirsty ferns below.

An exquisite woman lies below the opening,

Languishing,

Her face pained as a small group of healers encircles her,

Singing and drumming a heart-wrenching lament that brings tears to your eyes.

Seeing you watching,

She reaches a pallid green hand out to you,

And you approach her taking it,

Noticing that her glorious tangle of hair,

Made up of flowers and leaves,

Is beginning to crisp like the leaves outside.

Though her expression is pained,

You see so much love in her eyes for you as she greets you.

My child,

You are here.

It is then that you know in your heart that she is the Great Mother,

Mother Earth,

And you sink to your knees asking how you can help.

She forms a small ball of energy within the cup of her free hand and begs you closer.

Look into the light,

My child,

And see what I need you to do.

As you gaze into the light,

Listen to my words.

I will continue to nourish you as long as I can,

But you must learn to tread more carefully upon my back and be more respectful of all your brothers and sisters,

Especially of those that are non-human.

You are not separate from us or from nature.

You are nature,

And we are all intertwined.

Our sorrow is a shared sorrow,

But it is your actions as a single species alone that decide all of our fates.

Do not be overwhelmed,

Dear one.

That way leads to apathy and inaction.

Instead,

Gaze into the light and see what small act or acts you can do right now to lend a hand.

As you stare into the glowing orb of energy,

Images emerge before your eyes.

In time,

You are drawn back by the voice of Mother Earth telling you that she has a gift for you,

And she places the glowing green orb around your neck,

Which now hangs on a delicate chain just above your heart.

Its color is the freshness of new green leaves,

And you are filled with hope.

It pulses against your chest,

And you are filled with the knowledge that you are indeed connected with everything on Earth,

So beautifully intertwined like the music of an orchestra.

With such love in her eyes,

Mother Earth touches your cheek tenderly.

My wondrous child,

I am in your hands now.

Will you care for me as I cared for you?

Petals fall from her hair,

And the leaves in her hair begin to yellow.

Yes,

Mother,

You say,

And kiss her hand before rising to leave.

The ferns are soft beneath your feet,

Cushioning your footsteps as you go back out into the world.

The drumming,

Chanting,

And singing rise once more,

Following you out of the cave,

And you hear the Earth Mother's words in your heart.

Be part of me.

I am the whisper of the wind in the trees.

I am the rosy blush of dawn.

I am the gentle babbling of brooks.

I am the grounding steadiness of the Earth beneath your feet.

Be part of me.

Be part of us.

You lie back down under the cool canopy of trees,

And begin concentrating on your breath once more.

Slowly,

You come back to this time and place.

You begin to feel the temperature of the room on your skin.

You wiggle your fingers and toes,

And open your eyes energized and renewed with a fresh sense of purpose.

If you saw an element or an animal or an area of the Earth,

Serve the cause of your heart.

If you saw some other means of healing,

Service,

Or support,

Follow that heart song.

Some of us are called to lead,

While others are called to support.

All are equally important,

For no one can lead without strong supporters.

If you are already doing something in your community and need more hands,

Please comment and let our online community know how we can support you in your endeavors of kindness for the Earth.

Sending you all much love and light,

And so much gratitude for this online community of kindred souls.

Thank you.

Beautiful and encouraging Olivia. I’ve felt despondent lately at the amount of litter particularity plastic lying on the streets and this talk has lifted my spirit. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ’πŸ©΅πŸ’ A great resource available here in Sydney Australia is Return and Earn.
