Take a lovely deep breath in,
And a long slow breath out.
And the next time you breathe in,
Look up towards your forehead.
And as you breathe out,
Gently close down your eyes.
See,
Feel,
Or imagine yourself standing in a quiet forest clearing.
Dappled sunlight warms your skin,
Streaming through the tall trees overhead.
You hear the gentle rustle of the leaves,
The soft birdsong nearby.
You smell the scent of eucalyptus,
And it all feels so deeply calming.
And as you breathe in,
You begin to notice the golden mist drifting in from between the trees.
This soft golden mist carries the feeling of safety.
The kind of safety that your body needs to shift into a rest and digest mode.
And this mist surrounds you now,
Gently brushing against your belly.
And you might imagine that it softens the muscles,
Warming the centre of your gut,
Your digestive system,
Reminding your body that it's safe to slow down.
Safe to digest,
To absorb,
And to release.
And as you rest in the space held by the forest and the golden mist,
You let your body remember what it's like to feel settled,
And at ease,
And able to digest so beautifully.
And in a moment,
I'm going to count from one to three,
And when I say three,
You'll open your eyes,
Feeling relaxed,
Alert,
And proud of yourself for showing up today.
One,
Noticing your body resting on the surface beneath you.
Two,
Taking a deep breath in,
And sighing it out.
Three,
Opening your eyes when you're ready.
