Look up towards your forehead as if you're trying to see the top of your head and whilst continuing to look up gently close down your eyes.

Take some lovely deep breaths in through your nose and long breaths out through your mouth breathing out any stress or tension from your day.

The breath is one of the easiest ways to go within to come back to the present moment and to reconnect the mind and body.

The longer we make our breath out the more easily we drop into our parasympathetic rest and digest safety state.

One way to do this is to pretend that you're breathing out through a straw pursing your lips.

So breathing in and when you breathe out breathe out as if you're blowing out through a straw and do a few more of these in your own time.

And as you do so imagine a beautiful light hovering above your head and this light contains an energy of deep relaxation and calm.

And you notice that every time you breathe this light expands and as it expands it begins to cover your body starting with the crown of your head bringing with it a deep relaxation.

It expands first over your forehead,

Eyes and jaw relaxing all those muscles,

Your mind slowing,

Calming.

Every breath expands this beautiful relaxing energy over you,

Relaxing the shoulders,

Chest,

Lungs enabling you to breathe more deeply.

And then it expands over the tummy,

Pelvis offering comfort and protection to this vital area helping it to feel safe.

And then over the thighs,

Lower legs,

Feet and toes.

This light now surrounds your entire body in a bubble of relaxation and comforting energy and this bubble can extend out as far as you need to feel safe and completely relaxed.

In this light,

This protective bubble you feel like anything is possible.

You feel excited to go on a journey that can offer you exactly what you need,

Perhaps an escape,

Healing or better health.

Now see,

Feel or imagine yourself in a calming forest.

Before you a gently winding path leads through the trees.

The morning light filters softly through the canopy above creating shimmering patterns on the ground.

The air is so fresh and you can hear the sound of a waterfall ahead as it beckons you towards it.

So you decide to follow the path towards the waterfall now allowing the sights and sounds of nature to deepen your relaxation with each step that you take.

And you arrive in a clearing to find a gentle waterfall running down into a soft flowing stream.

The sound of the trickling water is steady and soothing.

As you approach the waterfall you can feel a mist brushing against your skin perhaps a soothing warmth or a refreshing coolness.

And this mist,

This waterfall holds the healing power of water,

The healing energy of nature.

And it's as though this place,

This waterfall knows that you're struggling,

Knows that you're dealing with challenging symptoms,

Maybe pain,

Fatigue,

Maybe bloating or brain fog.

It's as though the waterfall is calling to you,

Offering its healing powers,

Offering you even a moment of relief.

And so you decide to step under this gentle waterfall,

Accepting its help.

And as you do so,

You see a light coming from the water in a colour that represents healing.

And as this light,

This water moves over your entire body,

It seeks out all the areas where stress,

Tension or inflammation are held.

It might be drawn to the digestive system,

The pelvis,

The joints,

The mind or even the heart,

Offering these places healing,

Softening,

Release.

And as the water flows over you,

Your shoulders soften,

Tension releasing and your pain lessens.

You notice feeling more comfortable in your belly and your entire body.

And with this softening,

Your mind clears too.

You feel more calm than you have in a long time,

More grounded and more able to be in the present moment and holding hope for the future at the same time.

This waterfall,

This forest with all its beauty reminds you of the incredible strength and resilience within you and you can feel your own energy returning.

Allow this tranquility to deepen and integrate into every cell of your body,

Restoring your sense of health,

Balance and inner peace.

Finding yourself back at this waterfall,

This safe and grounding scene,

Know that you can come back here at any time and in a moment I'm going to count from 1 to 5 and when I say 5,

You'll open your eyes,

Feeling relaxed,

Alert and proud of yourself for showing up today.

Noticing your body resting on the surface beneath you,

2,

Wiggling your fingers and toes,

3,

Taking a deep breath in and sighing it out,

4,

5,

Opening your eyes when you are ready.
