Every day we are subjected to thousands, if not millions, of visual images. The sheer number means that useless images can crowd out those that can be helpful. Sometimes we miss out the beauty that is all the time around us. This exercise brings your awareness to your surroundings and gives you the ability to enjoy every little moment.

Hello,

My name is Kennedy.

Let's meditate.

Choose a comfortable sitting position.

You can sit with your legs crossed.

Sitting bones are grounded down on the ground or on your chair.

Your back is straight.

And today we choose a focus.

Look around the space where you are sitting.

Select a picture,

A drawing,

Or a representation of something you really love and enjoy.

And place it where you can see all the details.

Focus your attention on the image.

And take your time to look at its colours.

Notice the light and effects around the image,

Like the shades,

The shadow.

And even go deep and notice the depth of the colour.

Now close your eyes and see these same details.

Take your time to evoke in your mind all that you saw with your eyes open.

Focus your attention on the image.

Notice the depth,

Notice the shades.

Notice the depth.

Notice if it's the same image that you saw with your eyes open.

Maybe go deep and notice the difference between what you see with your eyes closed and what you saw with your eyes opened.

Open your eyes and see if the same image that you are seeing with your eyes opened is the same as your mental image.

Take a deep breath in and a deep breath out.

Thank you for meditating with me.

Namaste.
