Hello beautiful soul.
This short guided meditation is designed to help you ground yourself in your body as well as to activate your awareness of the powerful messages that our innermost wisdom has to share if only we know how to listen.
Today you will not only be guided by my voice but by the natural rhythm of your breath.
Unlike other meditations that you might have done before,
The purpose of this meditation will not be to control or change the breath in any way,
But instead to consciously and objectively observe the natural rhythm of the breath with loving curiosity and without judgement.
Today our intention for this meditation is simply to be in the here and now,
Letting the breath enter and exit the physical body of its own accord without any intervention.
Whether short,
Strained,
Uneven,
Heavy or relaxed,
Flowing,
Expansive and calm,
Our intention in today's guided meditation is simply to hold space for the body to breathe in this way,
However challenging or unusual this might initially feel.
As you are guided by my voice and you tune into the natural rhythm of your breath with love and with curiosity,
All that your body wishes to communicate to you in this moment will be revealed.
If you have not done so already,
I invite you now to close your eyes.
Choose a comfortable seated position,
Taking a moment to release any surface tension that is apparent to you with a gentle shake or movement of the body as you begin to settle into your physical and energetic space.
Now as you take your awareness inwards and start to focus on the natural rhythm of your breath,
Remembering not to try and alter this in any way,
Consciously and lovingly ease and relax yourself into your body.
No matter what is going on for you today,
Let yourself come home to yourself.
Let yourself be at one with your breath.
As you tune into the air moving through your body,
I invite you to reflect on the breath as a powerful,
Innate and accurate indicator of what might be going on for us on an emotional level.
Our breath is just one of the body's ways of communicating and expressing our emotions,
Stress and or pain and ultimately of self-regulating the body's baseline state.
The breath reveals to us any internal blockages that we might be experiencing,
Be that physical or emotional.
In some instances we can even find ourselves holding our breath in an attempt to control circumstances external to us which we might find challenging.
By connecting to the natural rhythm of the breath in times of emotional difficulty or confusion,
We empower ourselves to both connect with and identify the source of this discomfort that might otherwise not be evident on a surface,
Rational level.
I invite you now to ask yourself as you tune into the natural rhythm of your breath in the here and now.
Knowing now the wisdom that this holds,
Can you feel anything being communicated to you from deep within?
As you continue to sit with and connect to your breath,
I invite you to take note of how the air travels in through your nose or your mouth,
How it fills the lungs and then exits the body once again.
Are you perhaps breathing quickly?
Are your inhales longer or shorter than your exhales?
Are you breathing predominantly through your nose or through your mouth?
Do your breaths feel restricted or expensive?
Let yourself simply observe this pattern without judgement and let your breath flow through you and out of you in its natural rhythmic state.
As you continue to breathe,
Ask yourself,
Does the rhythm of your breath remind you of anything?
Are there any pictures,
Words or metaphors that come to mind?
I also invite you to ask yourself,
If you were to think of your breath as a voice for any trapped emotions in your body,
What is this voice trying to tell you?
Is there something that you can finally find the courage to say,
To let out,
To let go?
I invite you in this meditation to give yourself permission to be vulnerable.
In this space,
You are safe,
Supported,
You are loved and you are whole.
Any emotion you feel is valid.
As part of this meditation,
I invite you to allow all and any emotions to rise to the surface and to give yourself permission to express them.
Whatever this might look like for you,
If tears begin to surface,
That's okay.
If you need to move or shake your body,
That's okay.
If you feel the need to shout or scream,
That's also okay.
However it is that you feel it's okay.
In this moment,
Simply let these waves rise within you and wash over you.
Be safe in the knowledge that your body is communicating to you all that you need to know in this moment.
You're going to be okay.
Be safe in the knowledge that there is no right or wrong way to do this meditation,
That you are doing this meditation perfectly by simply doing your best.
By being here with me in this moment and just letting yourself breathe.
I invite you now to take three deep long breaths of release.
As you exhale,
Release anything that you feel you need to let go.
When returning to your natural breath,
I invite you now to ask yourself,
Within this connected state with your body and your breath,
Is there a word or a sound that you feel needs to be released?
Give yourself permission to do this now.
Know that whatever it is that is being communicated to you in this moment is exactly what you came here today to learn.
As we approach the end of this guided meditation,
I invite you to spend a few moments in this interconnected state of mind and body,
Basking in the newfound wisdom and clarity that you have gifted yourself today.
Know that in this moment,
You are one,
You are whole,
You are healing,
You have spoken your truth.
Thank you for meditating with me today.
Namaste.
You
