Welcome to your sacred time of healing and unwinding.
This meditation is best done laying down or in a reclined position or really any position that you feel very comfortable in.
It's time to show the body and show the mind that the work is done for the day.
Taking this time to relax and unwind.
Showing your mind that it can kick into rest mode and your nervous system can begin to relax allowing for all of that peaceful quality rest that you are so worthy of.
No matter what happened during the day,
What interactions you had,
Or maybe what didn't get checked off the to-do list,
Know that this is your time to set all of that aside because we know without our rest and relaxation we cannot be fully aligned and thriving.
You are so worthy of peace,
You are so worthy of rest,
You are so worthy of high quality restorative sleep.
And if you feel ready to do so,
If you haven't already,
Close down the eyes,
Making sure you're in a comfortable position.
And now taking a quick scan of the body to see if we can let go of any tension starting at your toes and feet and ankles.
Can you let go of any tension holding on there?
Feet and ankles,
Knees and ankles,
Feeling any tension melt away,
Further relaxing your upper legs,
Glutes,
Hips,
The most grounding area of the body right in the pelvis,
The very base of the spine.
Letting that part of your body become heavy and relaxed,
And now releasing all tension through your lower back and belly,
And now feel the entire length of your spine just letting go.
The work is done for the day,
Feeling residual tension in the shoulders and chest just melt away,
Feeling your arms and hands become heavier and heavier,
Feeling now your neck relaxing,
Your jaw releasing,
No more talking for the day,
Letting the mouth and jaw hang heavy,
And scanning now your whole face.
Can you let go of any tension in those tiny muscles around the sides of the face and the eyes,
Through the forehead,
Feeling your entire head and scalp,
Let all the tiny muscles relax.
Letting all of that go before bed will allow for better energetic movement while you sleep,
For healing,
For regenerating,
And alignment.
I want you to take the next few moments to listen to your breath.
No need to change your breath,
Just observe and listen.
Notice the little qualities of your breath,
Maybe it's beginning to slow down,
Or maybe you have a faster paced breath right now,
No judgments.
Just observe on your own for a few moments.
Can you invite your breathing to begin to slow its pace just a little bit,
Sending a cue to your body that it's ok to let go and rest and relax and float away into deep,
Peaceful sleep.
