The Power Of Calm Breathing
This session introduces the concept of calm breathing. Kids will learn the benefits of completing the course: staying calm, in control, stop feeling hurt, getting super focused, eliminating boredom, making friends, how they are connected to the world and those in it, and making morning and nighttime routines successful.
By the end of the session, they will know how to use slow, calm breathing in response to physical or emotional duress, as well as start mindfully observing their mental state as they breathe.
Les 3

Mindful Movement
This session introduces the techniques of mindful movement and feeling. Kids will learn how to tune into what they are feeling and how their bodies are moving. This will help them grow their mind-body connection, coordination, and control, as well as provide another way to engage with the present moment. By the end of the session, they will have further developed their skills of focus and attention, as well as have another technique to mitigate boredom.
Les 5
Body Scans
This session introduces the technique of body scanning. Kids will learn how to draw their mindful attention to each part of their body in turn. This will give them the ability to relax at night, calm down when overwhelmed, as well as highlight any physical pains or issues that they may need to report. By the end of the session, they will know how to combine calm breathing with mindful bodily focus.
Les 6
Visualizations
This session builds upon the previous session, giving kids the tool of visualizations to assist the process of body scans, healing, calming down, and resting. They will learn a simple approach to visualization that connects the imagination to the breath – breathing in healing, contentment, and happiness, and breathing out stress. By the end of the session, kids will have another tool to use when feeling physically or emotionally overwhelmed, pained, or stressed.
Les 7
Loving-Kindness
This session introduces the concept of loving-kindness (Metta) meditation. Kids will learn how their emotions, particularly anger, can impact other people, as well as how to appropriately handle them. They will also begin to use visualizations to send positivity, connecting the visualizations with the words: May they be happy, healthy, and have fun. By the end of this session, they will have fostered goodwill towards others, the world, and themselves.
Les 8
Mindful Seeing
This session introduces the technique of mindful seeing. Kids will learn how to focus on the task at hand and grow the skills of focused attention as they learn to tune into what they are seeing, as it is for what it is. By the end of the session, they will have a collection of techniques to obverse their physical world, have another tool to combat boredom, as well as discover new, unique and fascinating details about their worlds.
Les 9
Morning Routines
This session introduces the concept of morning routines. Kids will learn the importance of a planned morning and will gain the skills and confidence to work with you to establish one. They will discover the importance of using their words to ask for help, as well as how to employ the techniques of mindfulness and calm breathing to reduce the frustration that can arise when getting ready for the day. By the end of the session, kids will be better equipped to have successful and stress-free mornings.

How Things Are Connected
This session introduces the concept of the interconnected nature of the world and the people in it. Kids will learn how they are connected to their physical world, as well as how the air they breathe and the light they see are felt in the same way by everyone. By the end of this session, they will know how their actions impact others, the reason parents work and how they fit into the world at large.
Les 11
Night Time Routines
This session introduces the concept of nighttime routines and will complement and extend upon the lessons from the morning time routine session. Kids will learn the importance of a planned nighttime routine and how to best set themselves up for success. By the end of the session, kids will be better equipped to have successful and stress-free nights.

Bonus Track: Child-Led Guided Mindfulness Meditation & Calm Breathing
This session is led by my five-year-old son Archer, who voices a quick guided mindfulness meditation and calm breathing practice. Hopefully, the addition of a peer practicing will provide you and your child with further motivation to practice as well.

Bonus Track: Extra Guidance For Parents - Engagement Is Everything
This session provides some extra guidance for parents and carers. It highlights the importance of engagement over ‘perfect practice’ when it comes to kids’ mindfulness meditation and calm breathing. Once they are engaged and see the benefits and uses for themselves, they will actively want to sit.
Until then, we need to make it fun, exciting, and relationship-building. By the end of this session, you will have some tips, tricks, and ‘meditation games’ that will help engage your kid with the practice
