Hello lovely people,
It's Misha here from Joyful Living.
I hope you're well today.
So today's yoga nidra I thought we could do around the season turning from summer to autumn.
So for seasonal transition.
Allowing your body and your mind to rest,
Release and renew.
So finding yourself somewhere comfortable.
Where you can completely relax.
And allow yourself to be supported.
And lie down on your back.
If that feels comfortable.
Or perhaps on your side.
If you're on your back,
Let your legs be gently apart.
And your arms resting by your side.
Palms facing upwards.
In receiving mode.
You may like to place a blanket.
Of your body.
Because as the body becomes still.
It can naturally begin to cool.
Just let yourself get comfortable.
Move around if needs be.
Move your body in any way you need to.
And when you're ready,
Let your eyes close down.
There is nowhere you need to be.
Nothing you need to achieve.
For the next little while.
There is nothing you need to do.
Simply.
Allow yourself to rest.
And take a slow.
.
.
Deep breath in through the nose.
And gently.
Breathe out.
And again,
Once more.
Gently breathing in.
And breathing out.
And allow the breath to find its own natural rhythm.
And as you settle.
Notice the feeling of the ground beneath you.
And feel the support underneath your body.
You don't have to hold yourself up.
You can let go.
You can rise.
And as you settle into stillness.
Bring your awareness.
To the changing of the seasons.
We have been moving through the lightness and energy of summer.
Longer days.
Brighter morning.
Warm evening.
Perhaps there's been holidays,
Adventures.
Time out door.
Time with family and friends.
Summer can bring an energy of being outward facing.
Doing.
Exploring.
And connecting.
And now,
Slowly.
The season begins to change.
The evenings become a little darker.
The mornings a little cooler.
Nature begins to turn inward.
And perhaps we can allow ourselves to do the same.
Not because we have to stop.
But because there is wisdom in slowing down.
Wisdom in resting.
Wisdom in letting go.
Allow yourself.
To be held by this transition.
And bring your awareness.
Gently inside.
Notice what you need at this point in your life.
Perhaps there is something you'd like to release.
Something you no longer need to carry.
Perhaps there is something you would like to welcome.
A new intention.
A new beginning.
More peace.
More trust.
In your practice of yoga nidra.
Plant your seed of intention.
Your sankalpa.
Your simple positive statement.
That comes from your heart.
Not from your ego.
I allow myself to slow down and trust the process of change.
I release what I no longer need.
Or I am grounded.
Choose something that resonates with you and your heart.
And repeat it.
In your mind.
Three times.
With complete feeling and awareness.
Now we begin to move your awareness through the body.
There is nothing to change.
Nothing to fix.
Simply listen to my voice.
And move your awareness from one part of the body to the other.
Starting on the right side.
Right hand thumb Fast finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger,
Little finger,
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hand.
Rest.
Forearm.
Elbow.
Upper arm.
Shoulder.
Your right armpit.
Right side of the waist.
Bye.
Me.
Call.
Ankle.
The Hill.
Sole of the right foot.
Top of the right foot.
Right big toe,
Second time.
God.
Fool.
Now bring your awareness to the left.
Left hand thumb.
Fast finger.
Middle finger.
Ring finger.
Little finger.
Palm of the hand.
Back of the hands.
Rest.
Lower arm.
Owlbar upper arm.
Left shoulder.
Armpit.
Left side of the way.
Bye.
Knee.
Anchor.
Heel.
Sole of the foot.
Top of the foot.
Left big toe.
Second time.
Thoughts.
Fool.
Little Toad.
Bring your awareness to the back of the body.
Right shoulder blade,
Left shoulder blade.
Right buttock,
Left buttock.
The whole back of the body.
And now the front of the body.
Chess.
Heart space.
Ribcage.
Upper abdomen.
Lower abdomen.
Pelvis.
Whole front of the body.
Bring awareness to the face.
Full house.
Both cheeks.
Choom!
The whole body.
The whole body completely still.
Support it.
Resting.
Now bring your awareness to your natural breath.
Don't change it.
Simply notice.
Notice the gentle movement of the abdomen as you breathe in.
And as you breathe out.
Imagining the breath.
Moving all the way down to the belly.
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
With every exhalation,
Allow yourself to soften a little more.
Imagine that each breath is helping you release something you no longer need.
Tension.
Releasing pressure.
Expectations.
The need to have everything figured out.
Just allow yourself to breathe.
And rest.
Now imagine yourself.
Outside in nature at the end of summer.
It is a beautiful peaceful day.
The air is warm,
But there is freshness beginning to appear.
You're walking slowly along a quiet path.
There is no destination.
You don't need to get anywhere.
You simply walk.
You notice the colors around you.
The greens of summer begin to soften.
Hints of gold.
Amber.
Brown.
You notice the leaves moving in the breeze.
Some are holding tightly.
Others are falling.
It lets go.
When the time is right,
It simply lets go.
Take a moment to imagine yourself standing beneath this tree.
And ask yourself.
What am I ready to let go of?
Don't search for an answer.
Simply allow whatever comes to mind.
Perhaps a thought.
Feeling.
A situation.
A habit.
Something from the past.
You don't have to force it away.
Simply notice it.
And imagine placing it gently onto one of the falling leaves.
Watch the leaf drift away.
No struggle.
No force.
Just release.
Now imagine that the tree is becoming lighter.
And as it releases its leaves.
It creates space for the new season.
You too can create space.
Space debris.
Space to listen to yourself.
Space for new ideas.
New opportunities.
New experiences.
A new beginning.
You don't need to know exactly what is coming.
You only need to trust.
Summer becomes autumn.
And autumn becomes winter.
And winter becomes spring.
Everything moves.
Everything changes.
And you are allowed to change too.
You are allowed to grow.
And you are allowed to rest.
And you're always allowed to begin again.
Coming to rest in stillness.
Come back to the feeling of your body lying here.
Feel the ground beneath you.
The natural rhythm of your breath.
There is nothing to do.
Nothing to sew.
Simply.
Rest Allow yourself to experience this quiet space.
Between one season and another.
Stay here for a few moments.
Some things are meant to remain.
And some things have yet to arrive.
Trust the timing of your own life.
And bring your awareness,
When you're ready,
Back to your sankalpa.
Back to your heart belt in tension.
And repeat it in your mind.
Three times.
With complete feeling and awareness.
And begin to notice the breath.
Feel the body.
The temperature of the air.
Notice the room around you.
Perhaps making small movements and coming back to your physical body.
Were drifting off to sleep.
Whatever feels good for you.
See you next time.
Hari Om Tat Sat.
