Yeah hi welcome to this Weeks Mindful Monday meditation practice and focusing and speaking about nature this week and.
.
.
Yeah,
Talking a little bit about that and then regarding a short practice.
Yeah.
And so the invitation is to.
.
.
Yeah for us to sort of think about a particular a place in nature,
A part of nature.
That we are familiar with,
That we are keen on that we are maybe even have some sense of love for that is maybe near where we live next to where we live or maybe a long way away and some place that we remember with particular kindness and warmth,
Generosity,
Maybe even love.
Yeah,
And just considering how that can be a value to us and actually in this session we're going to be looking at how how recollecting that reconnecting Travelling back perhaps almost to that place.
That you have chosen.
It can be tremendously nourishing.
And there's a lot of research around this,
Of course,
That being out in nature,
Being out in the countryside.
And away from the kind of the hurly-burly of city life can be really soothing.
And the reason you know and there are lots of reasons for that but I think for me And one of the main reasons is that when we are in nature and we are essentially having a relationship with what is around us.
The,
You know,
What is around us,
Whether it's plants,
Animals.
Even the sky,
The ground,
Really us,
Very little of us.
When we are in the city.
There are lots of things happening but they are kind of asking things of us and we are often asking things of them you know whether we are looking to buy some food or we're looking to get on some transport or we're looking to avoid people on a busy street or in the office.
Yeah,
So you know there's a lot of doing.
Going on in the cities,
In the urban environments and in the countryside there's a lot more being,
There's just a question of individuals,
Organisms,
Just simply being and not really asking a great deal of each other.
And so there's a sense of just easy.
Connection.
Easy Relaxion.
Uh easy uh Connection.
And relationships around that.
So yes the next few moments are like you if you feel comfortable to bring to life a place you know maybe it's abroad,
Been on holiday as they say,
Maybe it's somewhere a little bit more proximate,
A little bit more local to where you are.
Closing your eyes if that feels comfortable.
And bring into your mind's eye.
Bring into your mind's eye this place.
That you have chosen,
If you can.
If that feels okay to do.
And there's an opportunity here.
To use our senses as best we can and there's no need to be concerned about trying to achieve anything here.
Whatever comes up is absolutely fine.
But there is the opportunity to use our senses to connect with this place.
And maybe in that's our mind's eye even if our eyes are closed seeing this place.
And.
.
.
If we can.
Connect with our hearing.
Seeing if it's possible to remember what we heard.
And even what we're hearing in this place.
Sounds of nature,
Maybe the sounds of wind,
The sounds of trees.
Make the sounds of animals.
And the sound of water.
For a hearing in this place.
And now what we may be smelling in this place so the smells of nature can be so powerful something to try if you haven't perhaps in your next out and about.
Maybe closing your eyes can really accentuate other senses.
Smell of nature.
The smell of being in a field or a forest or wood by water.
Maybe smelling,
Remembering.
What it likes to smell in nature and maybe noticing that perhaps being in nature doesn't have that.
Such a strong scent and that's entirely possible too maybe there's something rather lovely about that.
And what it feels like finally to touch.
Perhaps when you've been out and about you've done this maybe you've touched you've laid your fingers on the grass or you've Spend some time.
.
.
Holding touching a tree.
If you haven't done that,
I can really recommend it,
Perhaps for a minute or so with your eyes closed.
It allows you to lean into the connection of life.
The rough bark of a tree.
Or leaves.
Or dipping our fingers into.
Still or running water.
Yes,
The weather is.
.
.
Seeing or it's hearing or it's smelling or it's touching.
We can use these powerful senses to connect ourselves to a place of greater calm and greater Let's bring this short practice to a close,
But knowing that you can revisit this anytime if you feel that that it may help and may be supportive,
It may nourish.
Perhaps when you're next in nature you can do this you know when you're actually there out and about just taking a few moments and in that way perhaps the opportunity to kind of store up these memories to kind of enshrined to embed these memories a little bit more deeply,
A little bit more richly.
So when you are in spaces when you're not you don't have the for peace.
Support.
Of that world around you,
You can dip into it still.
You can connect with it still.
Yeah,
I feel the benefits of that still.
Thank you very much for joining.
I hope you found this supportive.
And I look forward to catching up again soon.
Bye for now.
