Today I am going to be guiding you through a reflection and visioning meditation for the new year.

This can be done any time throughout the year that you're wanting to reflect on how far you've come and to begin visualizing a new path forward,

But it is especially potent at the end of a year or start of a new one.

Whenever you're ready,

Find a comfortable meditative posture.

You can be seated with your hips higher than your knees,

Or if you're in a chair,

Scooch forward to the front of the chair to find your spine straight.

If you're laying down,

Get comfortable.

Find any posture that will allow your body to just relax for the next few moments so that we can come home to the mind.

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze,

Shutting down the world around us and awakening into the inner world.

Begin connecting to your breath,

Noticing how it feels in your body,

Noticing any tension or resistance,

Maybe sending your breath towards that point in your body,

Relaxing just a little bit more on the exhales.

Notice how the sensation of the breath feels at the tip of your nose.

Maybe it feels a little bit cooler on the inhale and slightly warmer on the exhale.

See if you can slightly extend the exhale for the next few breaths,

Coming into a deeper relaxation,

Relaxing the creases of your hips,

Relaxing your belly,

Letting your shoulders melt down your back,

Unclenching your jaw,

Softening the corners of your eyes,

Feeling your entire body being supported by the ground beneath you.

In your mind's eye,

Begin to imagine your perfect paradise,

A place in which you feel completely at ease.

You know that in this place,

No harm can be done to you.

You feel safe and at home,

Remembering that you can return to this place at any point.

Anytime that things feel too overwhelming or too much to handle,

You always have a perfect paradise waiting for you.

Find yourself seated in the center of this paradise and for a few moments,

Just feel into this unconditionally loving support all around you.

Begin to orient yourself in time.

Find yourself on this day,

In this year,

In this space around you,

And slowly begin to move backwards in time.

Maybe it's like you're moving through space or some sort of vortex.

Finding yourself at the top of this year,

January 1st.

Notice where you were 12 months ago.

Notice the space around you.

Maybe you look down and see what you're wearing.

Notice what you're doing.

The people present in your life.

How do you feel about this year ahead?

Think back to any expectations you may have had,

Anything that you wanted to accomplish,

Any dreams that were rushing through your mind.

Were you excited about this year?

Were you nervous?

Did you know what to expect?

Ground yourself back into this moment in time.

See it vividly in front of you,

Without judgment,

Just observing time travel per se.

And on your own time,

Slowly begin moving forward in time,

Noticing any accomplishments that may have happened,

Focusing on the goodness that came to you or that you brought into the world for the following 12 months.

Seeing January maybe as a new beginning.

Noticing the characters in your life that were present in February.

Sensing the world around you in March.

Moving into the spring of April.

What happened in May?

Remembering your sweetest moments of June into the ripeness of July.

What was your life like in August?

How did things feel in September?

Moving into October,

And the letting go of fall in November.

Finally arriving to December,

The end of a cycle,

The closing of a chapter.

Arriving at today,

Whenever you're doing this meditation.

Feel good about the year behind you.

Feel good about all of the things that you did.

Feel gracious for all of the goodness that you experienced,

The kindness that people offered you,

The love that you felt.

Think about the things that you learned this year.

Think about the things that you taught others.

Although this year may have not gone how you expected,

Look how much growth that you experienced.

And you made it.

The end of another year.

Feel good about this year.

Think this year behind us for all that it taught you.

And when you are ready to let it go,

Begin watching it wash away,

Disappearing in front of your eyes.

Knowing that the goodness that was experienced in this year will not go away.

It will stay within you.

But you are now ready for another year ahead.

There is limitless potential in front of you.

Looking forward,

Begin to populate in your mind,

Your biggest visions for the year ahead of you.

See the things that you want to do.

Notice your surroundings.

Notice the people in your life in this year ahead.

Don't limit yourself in this vision.

Dream as big as possible.

And see it as if it has already happened.

Know that if we are able to bring something to mind,

To see something in our inner vision,

Then it is possible.

If it wasn't possible,

Then we wouldn't even be able to think about it,

To conceptualize it.

See this vision in front of you and know that it is here waiting for you.

It is catching up with you,

Waiting to materialize in your reality.

And as you are seeing this vision for the year ahead of you,

Leave space for the unknown.

For the unknown is where the magic happens.

Leave space for things to unfold better than you ever could have imagined.

Know that you are always moving forward in life.

Whether you like it or not,

Things always will change,

And things likely won't always go to plan.

But with this vision,

You can use it as a road map.

Use it as a place to focus your energy and move in that direction.

Watch this vision slowly coming back in towards you,

Back to the center of your chest,

The place in which it was created.

Feel that energy of limitless potential seated right next to the heart.

Know that this vision that you just saw in your mind,

It came from you,

So it's possible.

It's always there with you.

Feel good about this work that you've done and know that just by visioning the future ahead of us,

That's all we need to do.

Then we can just allow life to unfold.

Begin connecting back to your breath,

Coming back into your body,

Back into the physical space around you.

Maybe taking a moment to dedicate this practice,

Dedicate it to someone who impacted you in the year behind you,

Someone that you hope has a fruitful year ahead.

On your own time,

Gently blink your eyes open,

Maybe bringing a small smile to your face.

Be proud of this and know that there is so much goodness yet to come.

By focusing on what has happened,

The goodness of the year behind us,

We then can amplify that,

Multiply it,

And it will continue to come into our life in new and old ways.

May this year ahead be everything in your vision and more.

I hope that it brings you so much love and joy and prosperity and abundance,

And I hope that this year is exactly what you need.
