Beep beep boop boop boop.

Greetings.

Welcome to this alien meditation.

Okay,

So thank you for joining me on this one.

This is one of the stranger meditations that I've thought up but it's a fun one.

So its focus is on cultivating a mindset of beginner's mind.

Hopefully by the end of it,

I don't know,

Maybe you'll feel like an enlightened alien Buddha.

We'll start this by just getting into regular meditation posture and starting the way we would any other meditation practice,

Which is just getting a little bit loose,

Starting to take some breaths,

Bringing your awareness to what's present for you in this moment.

All right.

So in this meditation,

I want you to imagine that you are an alien species that has just arrived on Earth for the first time.

And you just came here to explore,

You're just hanging around,

No specific mission or agenda.

You can make up whatever planet you're from.

But you are a really smart and mindful alien.

And so your first few moments on Earth,

You thought,

Hey,

Wouldn't it be cool if I meditated just to soak in all this Earth energy and see what's going on.

So that's what we're going to do.

An alien meditation.

So the cool thing about meditating as an alien for the first time on Earth is that everything is brand new.

Everything is fresh.

And one of the first things that you notice as you're here on Earth is that everyone is breathing.

And somehow you're now breathing too.

For the first time,

You're feeling this strange sensation of your body pulling in air from the environment.

And it fills you up.

And then the air falls back out,

Right out of your body to really imagine like you've never breathed before in your life.

And you have now been endowed with a strange orifice in your face that's pulling in this air.

So what's coming with that?

What would it feel like to breathe for the first time?

Okay,

So the breath is pretty interesting one.

But right along with the breath,

There's all this other stuff happening.

And if you've been in your spaceship for the past couple of light years,

Then you probably aren't very used to Earth's gravity field.

So as you're sitting here,

Imagine now how strange it would be to feel gravity for the first time.

The sensation of somehow being pulled down into the center of the Earth.

Like the Earth is trying to give you a hug or suck you in or something.

And where do you feel gravity?

You feel it against your feet?

You feel it in your whole body?

Do you feel it in the weight of your butt against the chair?

Yes,

This is all very strange indeed.

Can't wait to bring news back to the colony.

But in the meantime,

There's a lot more to explore,

Right?

So how about we bring our awareness now to the sounds of Earth in your atmosphere,

Your environment right now?

What sounds are you hearing?

For the first time ever?

If you're an alien explorer,

And you were taking notes to take back to the planetary kingdom,

And they asked you about the sound of Earth.

What notes are you going to take down right now?

You What about light?

Even with your eyes closed right now?

There's still some light bouncing behind your eyeballs,

Creating patterns and visions.

So squiggle your eyes around behind your eyelids with your eyes closed.

What's going on there?

Imagine this is completely new for you.

That weird,

Wispy,

Cloudy,

Ethereal brightness within the darkness behind your eyes.

What patterns are there?

What do you see?

Alien friends are gonna get a kick out of this when you tell them because it's so fascinating.

And how about this body?

Imagine that you were you used your special light beaming device and you somehow teleported into the body of a human being.

This is your first experience of walking around or meditating with this clunky human body.

What are the first things that you notice about what it's like to have a human body?

And then coming back to the breath,

This has been a fantastic report so far.

Our alien bros are not gonna believe some of this stuff.

But we'll finish it off just by going back to where it started with this breath.

This fascinating breath that somehow influences the sensation of our body each time our nose brings in this air.

And then a layer deeper than the breath is this little beat,

This little rhythm of our heart.

Now we can't assume that aliens have hearts.

This might be the first time an alien you are ever feeling a heartbeat.

Can you feel your heartbeat?

Can you feel your heartbeat as if it was the first time your heart was ever beating?

If I was an alien,

I would probably interpret the heartbeat as being kind of like a pre-programmed drum or metronome that's kind of keeping this whole organism alive.

That's exactly what it is.

And just zooming out your awareness now and noticing whatever's around you in your environment.

Taking our final notes here,

What else would you notice as an alien embodying this human being for the first time?

For me,

I also noticed my mind wandering,

But I'm not entirely sure that's a human thing.

That is probably pretty universal.

Awesome.

So that's my alien meditation.

Take it or leave it.

And I will see you on the next planet.

A unique experience! I never chuckled and smiled this much following a guided meditation before. I did become more curious about my surroundings and my body. Really played along as if everything’s so fascinating and I’m observing everything to tell my alien bros about hahaha. Guess another byproduct from this was gratitude as well :-) Definitely coming back to this. Thanks for the experience! Have a wonderful day and stay safe.
