Today's meditation is all about rooting for yourself.
It's about getting grounded and ultimately cultivating the support of energy and emotions you need today.
Let's get right into it.
I want you to find a comfortable position,
Which could even be lying down,
And gently close your eyes.
At your own time,
Take in three deep breaths.
I want you now to bring your awareness to your right foot.
Imagine roots growing out of your right foot and down deep into the ground beneath you.
Now shifting your awareness to your left foot,
Watching the roots grow out of your left foot and down into the ground.
Bring your attention to your right arm.
Finally grow roots out of your right shoulder and the palm of your right hand down into the ground.
Now bring your awareness to your left arm,
Growing roots out of your left shoulder and your left palm down into the ground.
Moving now up to your head,
Imagining a root growing out of the back of your head and into the ground.
Moving down to the base of your spine,
Where your tailbone is,
Your root chakra.
I want you to grow the thickest of the roots down into the ground.
Now feeling firmly planted and grounded with your body fully rooted.
When we're rooted,
We feel fully nurtured and supported.
More unwavering,
Unmoving,
Grounded.
To root for something is to support or encourage.
The hope for the success of and the well-being of.
It's what also connects us to the collective and to the whole.
Our roots are support systems.
It's our families and our culture and our communities.
Now I want you to think about an emotion or feeling you need to feel supported.
To feel rooted right now.
Maybe it's confidence.
Maybe it's balance.
Maybe it's being loving or kind to yourself.
What is it that you need to feel grounded in your being,
In your projects,
And in life that will help you support yourself?
Pick just one emotion you feel would be supportive to you right now.
Now,
Through your roots,
I want you to absorb whatever feeling or emotion that you feel would support you right now.
With each inhale,
Breathing in that feeling through your roots.
Maybe even imagining that emotion as a specific color or stream of light and watching that flow in through your roots.
And on your exhale,
Releasing any emotion that does not serve you back into the ground to be recycled.
Just like trees recycle our waste,
Our carbon dioxide,
And return to us clean oxygen,
The same process goes for our roots in the ground.
Returning with each exhale any emotions or feelings that do not support us and allowing that to be recycled through the earth.
And then return to us and through our roots,
Emotions and feelings that do support us.
Continue to allow that feeling or emotion to root into your being,
Imagining it streaming in abundantly through your roots and absorbing it into your body.
With each exhale any emotions or feelings that do not support us and allowing that to You You You Oftentimes we truncate ourselves We don't give ourselves enough credit enough love that we truly deserve Filling ourselves with that which we need is the opposite We are nurturing ourselves Expanding Allowing our core our trunks to continue to flourish and grow For our branches to touch the lives of others Taking a few more moments To really absorb all the nurturing and supportive energy that you need You You Now feeling full of that what you needed that confidence or self-compassion Feeling it within your core You can now take that feeling and expand it out into your interactions with the world branching out into your world with that feeling of support for yourself and of being rooted as you move on with your day As you are now feeling fully supported and ready to move on and carry the support with you Gently bring your awareness back to the room and wiggle your hands and fingers Circle your ankles maybe even give yourself a little smile And you can sit back up Thank you so much for joining me in today's meditation.
