Hi everyone,

Thanks for joining me today.

I know for a lot of people this COVID-19 pandemic is extremely scary and our anxiety has taken over and started ruling our days.

We feel trapped in our homes and in our minds.

This situation is completely new and unprecedented and so our fight-or-flight response has kicked in.

From the news,

From work,

From our friends,

We hear about this virus.

It's everywhere.

We hear about how it attacks our lungs and our chest and we can't help but be filled with fear.

But it's in these moments of fear we need to pause and take a breath.

It truly is the best thing we can do for ourselves right now.

Fear and panic only further creates chaos in our body and right now you need to focus on creating a healthy,

Stable environment within our bodies and our mind.

So now I want you to find a quiet place where you can remain undisturbed and get into a comfortable position.

You may either choose to be seated with your head to the base of your spine in a vertical upright position or you may choose to lay horizontally down on your back.

Wherever a position feels right to you in this moment,

Please go ahead and get there.

Once you're ready,

I want you to close your eyes and take a slow deep breath,

Bringing yourself back into your body and into this present moment.

Notice now if there are any areas of tension and gently relax and breathe into the muscles surrounding the area.

Now on my count,

I want you to breathe in for the count of four or the breath for the count of four and then exhale slowly for the count of eight.

We're going to do this three times.

Ready?

Inhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Hold one,

Two,

Three,

Four.

Exhale one,

Two,

Three,

Four,

Five,

Six,

Seven,

Eight.

Now I want you to bring your awareness to your heart center,

The space in the center of your chest.

You may even choose to place your hands on your heart if you feel called to do so.

And with your awareness fixated there,

I want you to really feel the gift of everything that physically exists in your chest,

In your heart space.

Specifically,

I want you to focus on your heart and your lungs.

Both are gifts they were given to you.

You didn't have to work for them.

Feel grateful in this moment for your heart,

For its innate ability to pump oxygen-rich blood to all your organs and throughout your body without you even trying.

Feel grateful for the lungs in your chest that filter the air you breathe and that bring in fresh clean oxygen to all your cells.

As you breathe in through chest space,

Feel that oxygen,

The fresh clean air moving throughout your cells and throughout your body.

Feel that blood flowing throughout your veins.

And remember now that your body is built to flow.

Nothing is ever stagnant and not moving.

Your heart is pumping blood which flows through your veins.

Oxygen is continually flowing in and out of your lungs with each breath.

The gift of flow is already within you.

So as times may seem uneasy,

Always come back to how you were built to operate in this world.

You were built to flow.

And just continue breathing into your chest space allowing everything to flow.

And if a thought pops into your head just like your body knows how to do,

Just let that thought flow.

Let it carry on and drift away out of your mind.

You can even imagine these thoughts drifting,

Flowing on the top of your head and out through the bottom of your feet.

Breathing in flow and gratitude and breathing out any tension.

And as we sit in the love and gratitude of being grateful for the gift of life itself,

For our heart and our breath,

We can come back to our inner peace and knowing that we can get through this.

Just as we know our bodies are meant to flow,

We know our bodies also have the power to heal itself.

When you get a cut,

It isn't the band-aid that makes the cut heal.

It is only the aid,

The helper.

It's our cells that do the hard work and the repair.

Just by being here and taking time to meditate and be grateful,

We're sending extra oxygen through our breath and through our lungs to all those cells that do the hard work of healing and repair.

I want you to sit in that gratitude for an extra moment and say thank you to your body for all the hard work it does.

Now gently bringing your awareness back to your surroundings,

Wiggle your toes and stretch your arms up above.

When you're ready,

You can open your eyes.

Thank you for showing up for this time and putting yourself first.

Remember that in this moment,

Not two weeks from now,

But today and right now,

We're grateful that we have a healthy working heart and lungs.

Thank you for joining me and have a great rest of your day.
