My name is Natalie and this yoga nidra practice is for a quiet and cozy winter solstice and also a chance for you to connect to the magic of this time of year the darkest time of the year called the great stillness the time where we can weave our own inner magic to manifest dreams,
Creativity,
And create the inner world that we want for ourselves allow yourself to settle into the practice allow your breath to settle into a soft rhythm easy,
Natural,
And slow you can begin to think of a heart's intention thinking of it like a seed that you will plant in your consciousness and because we're working with the winter solstice you may think of something that you want to slowly build on imagining it like a seed that you would plant in winter that would slowly grow throughout the seasons and finally be ready to harvest in the summer it may sound something like I trust in my own intuition or I trust in the wisdom of my body so take a moment to form the words that resonate with you and your intention and say them to yourself a few times feeling them and with a sense of trust now let those words go and tune into your body and bring your attention to the space at the top of your head we'll move through a body scan starting with your fingertips on your right hand begin to sense into your fingertips and you can imagine a warming magical light it could be the light of the aurora,
The blues,
Greens,
And reds and this light could also be a deep orange ember imagine this light warming your fingertips and slowly with your awareness you imagine this light beginning to spiral up through each finger and coming into the palm of your right hand and filling up your whole hand with warmth and dancing light and coming up through your wrist through your elbow upper arm shoulder filling the right side of your chest spiraling down the right side of your waist down to your right hip ankle heel the sole of your right foot all of your toes filled with dancing light and now coming to your left hand sense into your fingertips again and begin to imagine this magical light starting to fill your fingertips spiraling up through your fingers and the color and the warmth moving to the palm of your left hand through your wrist joint upper arm left shoulder left side chest moving down to your waist the sole of your left foot light filling your toes and sense the toes on both of your feet the soles of your feet as well the colors of dancing light warming your feet imagine this light starting to radiate up moving up through both of your legs slowly coming up to your hips and moving up through the center of your body your back body and the front imagine your body being filled with the magic of this light moving through you and from your fingertips arms filled with dancing light and your head feel the space around your heart opening to this experience let your attention move slowly up through your neck the colors begin to fill the back of your head and the sides of your head and sensing the top of your head and the space inside your head allow this magical light to spiral back down and through your whole body and the movement of these lights begin to slow down and imagine a gentle glow all throughout your body just like the warm orange glow of the embers at the end of a fire let your body settle and notice your breath with each breath the light of the embers grow a little brighter and with each exhale a little more dim a little softer feel your breath in your body allow the warmth to continue radiating through your body with each breath each inhale giving life to the warm embers each exhale a gentle release and a pause to rest and surrender with your mind's eye begin to imagine an evergreen tree in a snowy forest a candle flickering in the wind the deep embers of a fire sparkling a frozen lake a dark sky full of stars the aurora dancing in the night sky the north star guiding you home in the darkness you can allow these images to fade away sink down into the depths and the darkness of your consciousness cultivating a sense of trust in your ability to create and thrive in the darkness allow yourself to experience the magic that lives in the quietest darkest corners of your consciousness knowing and a deep sense of trust that the answers are within you may you find peace magic and wisdom in this quiet time of darkness allow yourself to fully rest into this experience finding sleep
