Good evening,
My name is Natalie and this is a short evening meditation practice to guide you into a restful evening,
A restful sleep.
So you can lie down,
Find a comfortable place and we'll begin with a few slow,
Present breaths.
You can start by taking a breath in,
Filling your body and let go of anything that you need to let go of from your day.
If you're carrying a lot of tension,
This next breath can be even deeper and maybe you let it out as a sigh or a sound.
One more breath,
Taking in everything you experience today and letting it all go.
Find a natural breath.
Allow your head to relax into the support beneath you.
Feel both of your arms softening down beside you.
Allow your back body to fully be supported.
Allow yourself to sink down,
Relaxing everything down even to your toes.
And as you lie here,
Allowing your day to transition into night,
We begin to build a bridge of rest to help you relax,
To help you sleep.
You can let your eyes soften and connect to your own imagination.
Begin to visualize and imagine a deep orange sun slowly moving down towards the horizon.
You may see the golden rays of the sun painting the sky with its colors.
You may see different clouds with shades of pink,
Purple,
Orange.
The golden hour fading away as the deep blue of twilight sets in.
And you look up at the sky and see the first star of night peeking through the darkness.
And you watch as the stars appear slowly,
One by one.
And you feel a sense of peace watching this subtle change.
The world around you sends the message that it's time to rest now.
It's time to sleep.
And as the darkness sets in,
You see a sparkling river of stars like salt in the night.
A river of stars on their endless path into the universe.
The universe holds the earth and the earth holds you.
And within you,
You hold the universe.
When you feel ready,
You can allow these images to fade and connect back to your breathing.
Allow your breathing to be soft,
Slow.
Slowly,
Over time,
Effortlessly,
Let yourself drift into sleep,
Into rest.
Thank you for being here with me in this evening meditation and may peace be with you.
