Welcome to the bonus track.
In this exercise,
We're going to simply practice some positive affirmations that you should be comfortable repeating to yourself before a workout,
Before a competition,
Or after a competition.
In reality,
These affirmations can be repeated at any time of the day and can have a profound influence on your ability to stay positive and focused.
These affirmations support the way you want to view yourself and your abilities.
They also support the goals you want to achieve.
Fighters who think of themselves negatively will rarely have the ability to succeed in the long term.
Only with a positive mindset can you expect to succeed in the cage,
Or in life for that matter.
So let's get started.
Repeat these lines after me,
Either in your mind or out loud.
It's completely up to you.
Just do it.
And most importantly,
Believe them completely when you say them.
Okay.
Repeat after me.
I believe in myself.
Try again,
But this time with conviction.
I believe in myself.
I believe in my own abilities as a martial artist and fighter.
I have a positive mental attitude and self-image.
I am capable of whatever I set my mind to.
The more I believe in myself,
The better I perform.
I am aggressive and calculated.
I am strong and powerful.
I am smart and strategic.
I am in control and focused.
I am a hard worker and recognize the rewards of my efforts.
I am confident anywhere in the cage,
Wherever the fight may go.
I am prepared and relaxed.
I am well trained.
I enjoy performing before a crowd and appreciate their support.
I love what I do.
I am a capable and confident athlete.
I am a good person.
I am enough.
It's okay to make mistakes because I learn from them and I am stronger as a result.
I am a good person.
I am enough.
I am enough.
I am enough.
Good job.
It may be helpful to write your own affirmations as they relate to a specific area of your game you're hoping to improve.
Affirmations could be general or specific,
About your attitude in general or about a specific skill.
Remember,
We aim to teach you how to train your own mind,
So do what works best for you.
The important thing is to incorporate positive affirmations into your life and practice them regularly.
Keep in mind,
It's better to use affirmations in the present tense,
Such as,
I impose my will on my opponent,
Because your mind will accept these statements as already true.
Don't say,
I'm going to do something.
Say it as if it's something you already do.
If you feel tired or sore after a competition,
Reach down and pull out some positive affirmations.
If you are ever doubting your skills and abilities or feel defeated,
Use these statements to help maintain focus,
Confidence,
And control.
Remember,
Saying nice things to yourself is not a demonstration of cockiness or overconfidence.
It's about developing a solid sense of self-worth,
Something all of the greatest fighters in history have done openly.
Muhammad Ali,
Now he used some of the greatest affirmations of all time.
I am as confident as they say,
And I am better than they say I am.
His hands can't hit what his eyes can't see.
Last week,
I murdered a rock,
Injured a stone,
Hospitalized a brick.
I'm so mean,
I make medicine sick.
I told you all,
I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee.
I am the greatest.
I am the greatest.
I am the greatest.
And he was.
