Welcome to this meditation where we will explore the calm and peace that exists beneath the surface of excitement and anticipation.

Allowing your body to settle into a comfortable position,

Letting your eyes gently come to a close,

Noticing how your body breathes in this moment without effort,

Feeling air flowing in and flowing out of your body without effort,

Allowing your awareness to settle on your body resting in this moment of stillness,

Knowing that it is okay when your mind gets captured by thoughts of the future,

Gently with kindness,

Allowing your awareness to come back to your breath flowing in this very moment,

Observing the natural flow of of each breath in and each breath out.

There is nothing you need to do in this moment,

Simply being here with your breath as it is,

As you are in this very moment,

Noticing as your mind starts wandering again into the future of excitement,

Acknowledging that by observing the mind,

Even as it is wrapped up in thoughts,

We are taking a moment to find stillness and peace even amidst the overwhelming thoughts of future anticipation,

Allowing each breath to bring you back into this present moment.

Observing what emotions are present here with you right now.

Is there excitement or perhaps nervousness?

Simply allowing these emotions to be here with you as part of your experience in this exact moment,

Observing any sensations in your body that are present with these emotions.

Perhaps there is a fluttering in your chest or in your belly,

Recognizing that your body allows you to see your thoughts and emotions physically present within you in this moment.

Allowing these emotions and physical sensations to be here with you,

Knowing that with time they will pass away.

And your true essence will remain as it is right now,

Deep inside,

Ever present and unchanging.

Greeting each feeling in this moment as an old friend,

With openness and without judgment,

Allowing your awareness to rest once again.

On the flow of your breath happening in this very moment,

Acknowledging that every time we return to the breath,

We practice self-compassion.

Feeling your body resting in this moment of stillness,

Gently bringing your awareness back into the room and the space around you.

Feeling the support of the surface beneath you,

Holding you without effort in this very moment.

Acknowledging that it is perfectly human to get caught up in thoughts about the future.

Each moment of awareness allows a new beginning to unfold.

Feeling your breath once again flowing without effort.

As you prepare to continue your day,

Acknowledging that each moment is complete within itself,

Just as you are.

Whole and complete right now in this very moment.

As you feel ready,

Gently allowing your eyes to open.
